I left DD when she was about six months old two separate times. Once for a weekend and once for almost a week. I didn't flinch at it, because I knew she was well taken care of and I wanted a break. However, last month I spent an overnight with a friend for a short girls weekend. I was so NERVOUS! DD is now two and a half and DS is 7 months old. I found it harder to leave (well mostly leave her) now that she is older, because she is aware of my absence. So, I feel your pain! But, enjoy the weekend and the time away. Use it to recharge and that will make you a stronger mama when you get back!

I hope you got some sleep too. Good for you for finally taking the plunge though. My LO is only 5 months, but I'm already dreading how I'll eventually handle a night away.

I know DS is 18 months and all, but it is still hard being away from him for the first time. DH took him with him to his parents and I'm going out tomorrow. I just miss him. I was hoping to sleep since its going to be a long, busy weekend and I haven't been sleeping well, but its after 2am here and I'm wide awake missing him.
