I'm sorry to hear about your loss - I know it's hard. My period came back within the normal time frame, but then I didn't have another for four months. Bodies can take some time to regulate post-mc. If it worries you, I'd talk to your doctor. If you're not worried, I'd give it 3 months to regulate (that's the time period my doctor says it takes your body to re-regulate hormones post-baby, post-birth control or post-mc)

I never had a D&C, after mine, but my period resumed pretty much a month to the day after and they were pretty normal as far as the length/flow etc. I imagine with a D&C it would be slightly different though, but it can't hurt to call your doctor, just to be sure

So sorry for your loss. After my D&C, it took 8 weeks. Doc said it would take about 6 weeks, so around 6 weeks we BD'd w/o protection and I got pregnant. We lost that one. But had I not got pregnant again, I think it would have taken 8 weeks to get my first AF. After the second loss, it took 38 days.

I'm so sorry for your loss! My first period didn't start until about 8 weeksafter our miscarriage (also had a D&C). I too was worried because I expected it to come around 6 weeks after. According to my doctor, some people's bodies take a little longer to regulate hormones after a miscarriage, but it's completely normal. My second period post-MC didn't come until 5-6 weeks after the first.

With my first mc I got pregnant again before I had a period. I ended up loosing that baby too and it took me 4 weeks before I had my first period. I'm pretty sure 6 weeks is still with in the range of normal.

I know you had a D&C but have you done follow up blood work to confirm your HCG is back down to zero?

Mine was about 6 weeks after my (natural) miscarriage. My periods after that were longish (34 days, 31 days, then was on track for 28 when I got pregnant again).

I'm sorry for your loss....

Mine was about 5 weeks after, but I had a natural miscarriage--not sure if that makes a difference though. If you're concerned, call your OB/GYN...they can give you a better idea of how long is too long.

When I miscarried, it took 5 weeks for my period to resume. My doctor told me not to be concerned if it took up to 10 though.

I don't have any personal experience, but I know a few girls who have MC'd and they had periods between 4-8 weeks after.
You may want to contact your OB/GYN just to make sure though!

For those who miscarried, how long was it before you got your "first" period post-m/c? Was it a normal period?
It's been 6 weeks since I had my D&C and I still have yet to see a normal period. Tmi- I've had strange wet discharges but they weren't period-like at all. They weren't even close to spotting.
Should. I be calling my doctor? Is 6 weeks within the range of normal?
