By three months it should make zero difference. As long as you are healthy and hydrated your supply should be pretty stable. Enjoy and wear nursing pads!

@ldh112: We used to hire a sorority sister of mine, but we moved away! So now we use MIL. Actually I've been meaning to hire one of the girls on the babysitting list I get from mops for a short Saturday evening. I just haven't gotten around to it!

You'll be fine, mama. Your supply isn't going to tank- the worst that can happen is you might letdown at dinner, so bring breast pads and enjoy!

You'll be fine! I'm jealous of your date.

Somehow my husband and I have gotten to 7 months without a real date (we have been to a couple of parties without her though). Pre-children I always thought it was crazy when parents would talk about how long it took to go out without them but now I see how the time just flies by.

3 months is a great time to go out though, I think it will be harder for us now that she is older (she sleeps worse now than she did at 3 months!). Have fun!

By 3 months, delay like that won't mess up your supply! I think our first was 3 months, and we waited until she was sleep for the night before we went out for dinner. I was sooooo tired, lol.

I've been nervous to try it, but I figure the longer we wait the more I will talk myself out of trying :)

A good friend with three (older) daughters is watching our 3 month old while we get dinner about 10 minutes from her house. I'm a little worried about delaying a feeding (breastfeeding) but I think if we get a little off track occasionally it won't screw my supply up too much, right? She eats every 2.5/3 hours and I am hoping to not go over that time by much!

Anyone else with a recent first post-baby date or looking forward to their first soon?
