Yay, how exciting! At 12 weeks we heard the heartbeat with a doppler and didn't do much else. Just peeing in a cup, b.p. and weight.

So glad that you are 11 weeks!!!

I saw the doctor at 6 weeks for a quick exam and blood work. 8 weeks had an ultrasound and then just met with the OB nurse, then more blood work. 13 weeks had another ultrasound and then a full exam with the doctor.

Couldn't they just do a transvaginal for the heartbeat? I've already had 3 ultrasounds and will definitely be asking for one today.

But yes, yay for 11 weeks! Maybe it'll be a quick appt :P

Doc will probably listen for a heart beat (but they can't always hear it at 11 weeks depending on baby's positioning) then talk to you about how you've been feeling and ask if you have any questions or concerns.. and send you on your way.

I'm 11 weeks today (!!) and have my first real appointment with the doctor. I had one a few weeks ago and the nurse practitioner just pointed me to the website, told me 1-2 cups of coffee, asked if i wanted a natural birth or not, if we wanted to circ, and to call if i had questions. This is my third pregnancy, so it was super short. My NT scan is next week.

This is the first time I've actually met with my doctor during a pregnancy, though! What's different about this appointment? Anyone else have a similar experience with seeing nurse practitioners for the first trimester, then their doctor?
