I loved moccasins when they are first started to walk since it feels like barefoot. Freshly picked was way too expensive but Easy made some a lot less expensive.

thanks everyone! All the suggestions were great.

I ended up with some Robeez from amazon, they were on sale for $15. They'll get here Friday, and I know my DD will be as excited as I am :silly:

GAP socks have the gripper are thick and stay on. If your LO is not walking yet I'd recommend just having her wear socks. Our LO's first shoes were Pedipeds and we always had our son wear them with thin non-GAP brand. We only used them when he was outdoors.

At that stage you only need a bootie type (Robeez) soft soled shoe. As she starts to progress you can get a flexible sole from Stride Rite.

Jack & Lily! Not soleless but the sole is so flexible for pre-walkers. I got those for DD1. For DD2 I got a mair of minnetonka (sp?) from Nordstrom. I think the fringe suede bootie is like $23 (I had a giftcard).

Mocs -- monkeyfeetusa.com always runs a great sale

or Target Surprize by Stride Rite -- these are very similar to our favorite pair. She wore the heck out of them! Plus they match almost everything.

I used socks with grips on the bottom. No issue staying on at all, but I was careful to buy the sized socks, that have the heel, as opposed to one size fits versions that slip right off.

We got these mocs at that age. Stayed on great with our without socks. They're super cute and we got tons of compliments. I'm not spending $50 on a pair of mocs for a baby that will grow out of them in 2 months

Check out Target. There are tons of options for pre-walkers there. DD wore moccassins from Target at that age (I can't find the exact ones now) and they were great.

What about booties? They should stay on better than socks. Maybe something like this?

For what it's worth, once you put shoes on over the socks they'll stay on. At that age we went with Padraig Cottage slippers or moccasin-style slip on shoes.

there's probably something better out there, but I got these when my son was in that stage, and they were just fine. kinda can't ask too much for $14 :) after he started walking for real, we were gifted some See Kai Run shoes which are WONDERFUL but a little pricier.

My DD is 11 mo old and we are looking for some shoes for her! Socks do not stay on, and now its cold, so she needs something on her feet!

So I'm looking for something that will work for the next several months, as she starts to stand and walk. She also has tiny feet, still in 6mo size socks.

So recommendations for a tiny-footed, sockless, crazy crawler soon to be walker?

I'd also like to stay in the very inexpensive side, (under $20, preferably under $10) unless its not possible.

Thanks!
