It's not that bad - I mean, he was PISSED and I was very anxious about it and felt terribly, but he cried for like 30 seconds. Now, the bad part was later in the day when he woke up inconsolable. Tylenol fixed that.

Liv cried for less than a minute. I sobbed for at least 5 lol. Its much worse for you as the mommy. The worst part for us was the after part. She did get a fever, her first, so I was terrified and didnt know what to do or what was too high, etc. Hers was super mild...like 100.1...but I was terrified lol.

DS never cried. Never even made a noise. And only one of his immunizations in the past year gave him a bit of a temp (I gave him some Tylenol).
Even if he does cry, just give him lots of mama-comfort, maybe bring a favorite toy or lovey, too.

C always takes shots like a champ. She screams until I get to pick her up. A few mommy cuddles and a dose of Tylenol beforehand do wonders.

The shots weren't as bad as I expected - DD screamed for about ten seconds and then calmed right down. I held her on my lap whilst they gave her the shots simultaneously (yes, I found that weird too) and as soon as they were done, I turned her around for a big cuddle.

The good thing with shots is that it's only a momentary pain - it's not like they've injured themselves and have to wait for the pain to subside, so the crying is pretty short-lived as well.

The worst part for us was after the shots - she was fine the first time but spiked a super high fever after the second round of shots, so just keep an eye out for that. It doesn't set in right away and caught us completely off guard.

Regardless, it will all be fine! Just give your LO lots of cuddles and know that you are doing the best thing for him by protecting him from scary diseases out there!

Oh, and my LO always waits until a few seconds after the needle is already out. She's like hmmm...... I think I'm supposed to cry, but I'm not sure. Ok, I will.

Good luck to you and your LO! Just remember you're doing it for his own good :)

It really isn't that bad! My LO cried for less then a minute. When they're done you get to pick him up and comfort him and it's all over. The end.

I think it'll be worse when they're older and they actually DO know what they're getting into.

My son gets his first round of shots in an hour. I'm already crying thinking he has no idea what is about to happen to him. I hate to think of him in pain. A little reassurance please?
