- How old was your LO when you fed them their first solids? On her 6 month birthday

- Did you wait for your Pediatrician's approval or start your LO when they could sit up and seemed interested? Our ped said at her 4 month checkup that we could start whenever we felt like LO was ready. She seemed interested around 5.5 months but we were traveling and then she caught a cold, so we waited until we were home and healthy to start.

-What was your LO first solid food? Oat cereal, avocado, carrots, peas, butternut squash, and bananas (in that order). Next up is pear. So far, she's liked everything except peas.

-Did you stay away from Rice cereal to start? Yep, she still hasn't had it. I feel like oats are somewhat more nutritious, but now that she has more foods in her repertoire, I'm planning to concentrate more on fruits and veggies and only give cereal occasionally -- but I wanted to know that she could tolerate it, so we gave it a try early on.

- How old was your LO when you fed them their first solids? -- 4.5 months

- Did you wait for your Pediatrician's approval or start your LO when they could sit up and seemed interested? -- I thought I would be waiting until 6 months, but our pediatrician thought he was ready at 4 months. He was very interested in what we were eating.

-What was your LO first solid food? Oatmeal cereal. Then we moved on to sweet potatoes at 5 months.

-Did you stay away from Rice cereal to start? I wanted to use oatmeal cereal instead of rice cereal.

I started solids at 5.5 months.
My pediatrician recommended starting solids at 4 months, but I was not comfortable with that. LO was sitting independently about when I started.
The first food I introduced was banana, because it is soft and sweet. I introduced a new food every three days. I tried to introduce high allergy foods early, because there is evidence that this reduces the risk of allergies. I did not introduce food in any particular order.
I never gave LO rice cereal. I gave him some cream of wheat cereal pretty early to introduce wheat.
I introduced table food at 9 months, which was when LO became interested in food.

At 4.5 months the pedi gave the okay and we started solids. We started with sweet potatoes and green beans, only because that is what I grabbed from the cabinet. I've never given her rice cereal.

ETA: We tried a new puree every 3 days. Now at 8 months she eats purees and small pieces of table food.

I think 4 months we did rice/oat cereal. He didn't like it so I didn't push it.
We did baby food at 6 months. I started with pears, squash, and apples and introduced a new food every 3-4 days or so. Table foods at 7-8 months because he showed interest in our food. Once I did table food, we never went back to baby food.

we just started solids at 6 months, which was right after her doc appt, but her doc didn't have much to say about it. She was sitting up at 4.5 months and reaching for food, but we wanted to EBF till 6 months so we waited. her first food was banana, because it was what i was eating when she looked like she was going to jump me so i gave her some :) we have not given any rice cereal.

We attempted to give Xander sweet potatoes at 6 months, but he wanted nothing to do with it. I tried a variety of different things over the next month and then finally went to rice cereal around 7 months, which he tolerated. We kept with that until he got more interested and seemed to be into it and then we switched to other fruits and veggies.

We started at 5.5 months. I intended to wait until 6 months but DD had other ideas.
We gave her roasted sweet potato first. Loved it!
Skipped rice cereal, which in hindsight I'm really thankful for - DD has occasional constipation issues and rice is a big issue for her now.

Lo was 5.5 months old. We had peds approval and my lc commented that she was ready because she was reaching for food. She was sitting up sort of on her own. We started with oatmeal cereal and then went to sweet potato.

We waited until LO was closer to 7 months. We'd intended to start at 6 but she had a little virus so I was nervous to start, thinking I wouldn't know for sure if she was having a reaction to something or it was the virus. I think our pediatrician gave us the go ahead, but she was obviously ready, sitting up no problem and interested in our food. We did BLW, so her first food was broccoli. She liked it! We never did rice cereal 0 just started with green vegetables, then orange/yellow, then onto fruits, then everything was fair game. We took it a little slowly because I was worried about allergies, since she was dairy intolerant her first year.
