Def keep charting! Once you have a month or two of charting and using the OPKs you will have a better idea of when you actually O each month so you can make sure to hit your window. As a rule I try to DTD for at least 2-3 days after I get my smiley just in case. Also, outliers are normal. I've heard that if you have a lot of outliers temping orally that temping vaginally can help.

@jstalter: Try not to worry too much; I know there are lots of bees who conceived their LOs with BD at O-3. And charting is great way to learn more about your cycles. Good luck! :goodluck:

Thank you for the explanation! I'm really hoping I caught the Lh surge late and that I ovulated CD11 since I haven't had intercourse since CD9. :( Trying to focus on the positive; that finally getting a happy face on an OPK means at least the surge is happening.. and now that I'm learning more about charting and my cycles are getting more regular, I can hopefully continue to increase my chances each month!

Totally normal to have a positive OPK for only one day. The duration of the LH surge doesn't matter, only when it starts (you can expect to ovulate 12-48 hours after the start of your surge). If you miss the start of your surge (say, it starts at midnight and you don't test with an OPK until 8am), you can actually ovulate the same day as a positive OPK (I have!). Keep temping and FF will probably adjust your cross hairs in a few days.

Side note- my temp did spike on the 11th to 97.8 but it was such an outlier and I was dehydrated from a run the night before so I took that out thinking it was skewing the data.

I used a Feetility Friend chart for the first time this month. I plugged in known data from last month to try and help give more data for the app to sync. Here's a picture of my current chart; my cervical mucus and positive OPK seem to correlate. My question- has anyone else had a positive OPK for only 1 day? What does this mean for when I ovulate? I had a darker blue line on the test strip the day before I tested positive on the OPK so I'm thinking maybe I actually ovulated yesterday? I had ovulation (I think) cramping last night and I've definitely had the fatigue but my boobs are normally SUPER sensitive/sore and I didn't feel that this time. Thanks for any info in advance!
