Thank you all :)

@MRSJX3: Not even remotely. I'm 5"3, but that's a great suggestion for my much taller pregnant friends!

I feel the same as @regberadaisy about the bottler sterilizer. I used it every day after returning to work. I started with the sterlizing bags but that got old quick. We have this Dr. Browns one:
http://www.amazon.com/Dr-Browns-Electric-Steam-Sterilizer/dp/B005AYC45A/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435200028&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=dr+browns+bottler+sterilizer

@rittenhousemamabee: Yes to the Skip Hop Versa diaper bag, sooo much better then the Duo model.

For sound machines, the Marpac is one of the best rated. I want to get one, but we make do with the cheaper HoMedics Sound Spa. We've used it every night for two years and its still going strong.

I've tried a bunch of different baby thermometers and most of them suck! The Exercen Temporal Artery thermometer is my fav

Bibs? Bumkins are the ones we love, they air dry quickly and can be thrown in the washer as well.
http://www.amazon.com/Bumkins-Pack-Waterproof-SuperBib-Girl/dp/B000XPWXK2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435199784&sr=8-1&keywords=bumkins+bibs

Also, fyi H&M baby/kid clothes run huge, so register for a size down from what you really want.

I would add:
- High chair and some feeding stuff (straw cups, bowls and spoons, silicon bibs)
- A swing that can plug in (not sure if the one on your list can)
- Possibly a bouncer or rocker
- A white noise machine that does not turn off
- Extras of: bibs, burp clothes (get like a million of these), another set of newborn mittens (maybe a different type like Satsuma), toiletries (shampoo, lotion), wash clothes
- Books (we totally forgot to register for books but someone gave us a huge set which have used since day 1)

I would probably not bother register for too many clothes because you will get a million anyway. We had so many newborn onesies that she never wore. I'd also not bother registering for a ton of bottles.

Good luck!

So to build on all the responses...since you have a late fall baby I recommend a fleece JJ Cole car seat cover. The one that is like a shower cap over the car seat.
I didn't see any baby mittens for the newborn days so they don't scratch themselves?

I disagree about the sterilizer. I'm anal about cleanliness and sterilize bottles and pump part after each use.

Swing? Bouncer? Pack N Play? What is baby sleeping in when she comes home? Get a cool mist humidifier. It will be a god send for a winter baby! If you will be using the stroller a lot maybe a fleece foot muff? Pacifiers? Bibs? Diaper cream and lotions? Medications such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen for 6m+? Gas drops / gripe water? Gear for starting solids? 6m goes by faster than you think! ;) A walker / excersaucer/jumperoo?

We love our diaper genie and have been using it for 3 years. ;)

I didn't put any clothes or blankets on my registry because we've already gotten a bunch of stuff cheap on consignment or as random gifts.

Most of what I've read says that you don't really need to sanitize bottles after the first time, so I'm not registering for a bottle sterilizer, but I know some people use them a ton. Most of my friends who breastfed just used regular pillows instead of a special Boppy. And I'm planning to use regular washcloths and towels for baby.

Some things I'd consider adding would be breast pads (disposable/reusable as well as those gel filled things for when they're sore), lanolin lotion, baby soap/shampoo, diaper rash cream, stroller parent tray, mirror to see baby in carseat (some people don't like these because they can be projectiles in a wreck, but I want one), baby tylenol (my husband's a pharmacist and he recommends the generics).

I'd skip the sterilizer. The ergo and boba air are pretty similar I believe, so maybe instead of having 2 structured carriers add a wrap (boba makes one)? I also skipped the infant insert, as the wrap can be used from birth and you can use a rolled up blanket in the ergo.
I would delete all the clothes too, people tend buy clothes on their own so after the shower you can fill the gaps.

California Baby products, a ton of footed zipper pjs (the zipper is key!).
I hated the portable swing because it ate batteries, I like the ones that plug in even though they take up space. I've also found that gender neutral colored big items like swing and jumper resell better then pinknones. Congrats!

Congrats on your little girl! Mine just turned 3 and I'm due with our second baby in November.

Bottles don't need to be sterilized so I would skip that. Hand washing them or running them through the dishwasher will get them plenty clean.

I would also try and get by with a regular trash can for diapers. Everyone I know that had a diaper genie type item hated it and wound up using a regular trash can.

I second the recommendation to take clothes off your registry. They get discontinued or sold out really fast and can be frustrating. I would leave the sleep sacks on there though.

I'm a Oct 2015 mom! Welcome!

I'm having twins and my shower is planned for July in Philly. (Your HB name makes me think you are in the Philly area.)

Anyway, since my shower is next month, I have my registry list already made.

Here are some comments I would make:
-Breast pump is covered and you should be able to get it from your insurance.
-How many crib sheets are you asking for? I registered for 3 for each twin. (one in use, one clean and one in the wash). This goes for changing pad covers and mattress protectors, too.
-I heard babies can be picky about the nipples and bottles, so I pretty much scanned a 1 or 2 pack of nipples of each brand. As for bottles, I got some plastic and 1 or 2 glass ones. I would like to see if I like glass ones.

There are some things on your list that I forgot, so thanks for posting your list. I'll have to add some more items to my list.

Oh, I added some personalized things to my list. My DH is into comics, super heros and certain type of music. I registered for some onsies, socks and some books with his interest in mind. He's also an artist, so I asked for a onesie that says 'I want to be an artist just like my dad'. Oh, DH likes heavy metal and rock music, so I registered for some Rockabye baby lullabye albums. (You should look it up if you aren't familiar with it. ) They make albums from Beatles, Aerosmith, Journey and other artists.

These aren't must haves but I think it was something fun to add to our registry. I think our family and friends would like buying things like this for us.

I would wait on the carrier. I got a solly wrap but any wrap style is good for newborn age and then when they get a bit bigger you can try on carriers to find one that fits best. I ended up with a beco Gemini.

Also I love my keekaroo peanut change pad. The wipable surface is amazing and I don't have to have a million change pad covers.

I wound get too many burp cloths or bibs. My baby isn't a spitter so we have barely used them, but if they are or drool a lot you'll need tons.

@rittenhousemamabee:
Yes, I would get individual bottles or the smallest package. Like someone else said, some babies don't care, others are super picky. Also, regarding the newborn clothes, I really liked kimono style snap tops at first. No pulling annoying onesies over their heads!
If you plan to pump a lot, look into hands-free pumping bras. They're great! Also you might need some storage bags for your stash.
You might also want to get diaper rash cream, like A/D or Butt Paste or Aquaphor.
We found nasal spray saline to be really helpful when having to suck out snot with the Nosefreida.
Also, maybe some infant Tylenol just in case?

Looks like a very well thought out list. I don't think I saw a high chair or booster seat on there - you may want to go ahead and register for those. Also I'd go ahead and register for the convertible car seat.
You could register for some bath toys too and bathing supplies (baby wash, shampoo, lotion).
I also wish I registered for more books. There are some great posts on HB on books LOs love.

@rittenhousemamabee: the car seat comes with one base, but many people buy an extra one if the car seat will be going in multiple cars on a regular basis (different people doing daycare drop-off/pick-up or one for the nanny.) You don't have to have it for occasional use, because all carseats can be strapped in using the seat belt if needed.

Just some thoughts--

The snuzzler shouldn't be used in the carseat with LO, as it voids the car seat warrenty to have any after market products. So I personally wouldn't use it while you're driving (just walking around with the snap and go is fine).

I wanted a white noise machine that went all night long and wasn't on a timer, not sure if the graco one is. We have a dohm and love it.

The aden and anais blankets for Target are not the same as the regular A&A blankets that everyone raves about. The target brand ones are smaller and rougher-not a huge deal, but just so you're aware.

@rittenhousemamabee: I would not register for bottle sets, my first child took the bottle I picked (Tommee Tippee) just fine but DD2 we went through 6(!) different bottles and she still hasn't' found out she's willing to take.

Agree with @yoursilverlining: on the baby carriers - at the very least keep the gift receipt so you can return.

Clothes - people like to buy clothes and like to buy what they think is cute, so I didn't register for any clothes and I got a ton anyway. Besides, it's always hard to find the exact set that is on the registry and it makes people frustrated to be searching and can't find the exact one because it's been moved to the clearance aisle or discontinued.

Feeding - check with your insurance company about the pump. The ACA requires that they cover them, so you might be able to get it free or at least discounted through your insurance company. I'd buy a 2-3 bottles of different brands until you figure out what you need. Also with feeding stuff - keep in mind what you are going to need at 6 months and 1 yr - spoons, food containers, sippy cups, etc.

Health and Safety - some LOs are picky about their paci, so you might register for 1 or 2 packs of several different kinds until you know which one you LO needs. We used lots and lots of burp clothes.

@BabyTsMom: Thanks - that's definitely something I didn't consider! Question about bottles - should I not register for bottle sets and buy individual bottles instead or register for 2-3 different brands of sets and see which one she takes to?
@yoursilverlining: I was under the impression that the carseat came with a base. We'll only need one. Do we need to buy that separately? As for the bottles - same question as above - should I not register for bottle sets and buy individual bottles instead (do they even sell individual bottles?) or register for 2-3 different brands of sets and see which one she takes to?

Thanks again ladies! I'm so overwhelmed by the endless lists and every it of advice helps :)

Hi! I have some notes on your list below

Baby Gear:

If you live near a baby store, you might want to wait on ordering carriers until your LO gets here and you can go and try some on and see what you and your LO like best for babywearing. There are a lot of options!

Transportation:
Chicco KeyFit(R) 30 Infant Car Seat – how many bases will you need? Make sure you order enough ahead of time.

Feeding:
Munchkin Steam Guard Microwave Bottle Sterilizer – make sure this fits whatever bottles you ask for

You may want to register for 2+ types of bottles as some babies are picky. We ended up using Dr. Browns and I definitely recommend them, but I have friends who swear by Avent (we tried them and they didn’t work for us).

Bath Time:
Circo(R) Newborn Girls' 3 Pack Hooded Towels - Pink/Orange – hooded/baby towels are not necessary, so just depends on what you want to register for, spend $$ on.

Diapering:
Pampers Swaddlers Diapers – Newborn – don’t buy these, you can grab a bunch from the hospital usually

Nursery & Decor: make sure you have several changing pad covers, as they will pee on them.

Health & Safety – all you have listed are great

Fisher-Price Rainforest Melodies and Lights Deluxe Gym – my LO loved this one, so I def recommend it.

@rittenhousemamabee:
Unless your LO is measuring huge, you may want a few newborn pieces to get you through the first month. All I had was 0-3 stuff and my LO was swimming in them. (Granted, he was small).
I don't know anything about the Boba, but I have the Ergo 360, and it's awesome. If you think you'll ever do forward-facing then I recommend looking into that.
Everything else is personal preference. Oh, I might not register for a huge bottle set because some babies (like mine) are very picky about bottles. We went through four or five brands before he finally was ok with them.

Hi! I'm a first time mom and my hubby and I are making a master list of things for our little girl due Oct 29. We are likely buying the bigger stuff and leaving the rest for a registry since our moms are hosting a large shower. I apologize in advance for the length of this list, but I am hoping some experienced moms could give me some insight specifically on things we may have forgotten for the newborn to 6 mth stage. Thanks everyone!
