We're both late bloomers, met and married late, and were ready to start a family right away. </p> <p>Being older, I went to my Gyn to ask about things like temperature taking and charting and ovulation kits -- I have irregular periods -- and he said don't!!! He told me it causes more stress than it's worth. He said the best thing to do is to try to have sex approximately at least every other day (as sperm can live in a woman's body for at least a day) most of the month, and during the week I thought I'd be ovulating to try to have sex everyday, if possible. For us, it worked! I got pregnant that month -- a week before my estimate of when I should have been ovulating. </p> <p>Anyway, taking my doctor's advice was a lot more fun than I think taking the scientific route would have been! I started on the pill at 18 and before that I had very irregular periods, so I really have no idea how my body is going to do off the pill. You can't "unknow" information about implantation, cervical mucus, opks, etc. So, I suggest being in the dark as long as possible because it can become really stressful.<br /> If you decide to use OPKS, I suggest the clear blue easy digital kits ( not the advanced. ) To me, it was the most stress free way to conceive.<br /> For the the time being, have fun with it!
