We both knew we wanted to be parents someday but I thought the "right" time was still 6 months to a year off...then he said it and I immediately teared up and thought "absolutely!"<br /> We got pregnant quicker than we expected and were both kind of taken aback, but he was always excited. DH has wanted to be a daddy for some time now. He's really controlled with his head and heart though - he won't let his heart take control if his head says otherwise (if that makes sense). I knew he wanted to be a dad and was waiting for the "right time" but it took him actually saying it out loud to get to me. He was on board with TTC but in a chill kind of way, like what will be will be. While he was on board with our TTC efforts this whole time, this is the first time he actually said to me "I really want to be a father". I don't think trying for an actual kid sunk in with him until now. Maybe it was all the father's day cheer that made him realize he is actually excited to be a dad. :) It was very sweet, but also made me kind of sad since we're having fertility issues currently...</p> <p>To those who are TTC for the first child, has your DH specifically said he wants to be a father, or is he still kind of just along for the TTC ride and it hasn't quite sunk in yet? Haha! </p>
