@Raindrop: ya i am kind of feeling like if i try this month, i will get pregnant this month, since it happened so easily last time! So I know what you mean. i don't want to prepare for disappointment just yet and just let myself keep feeling this way for the time being. I know it doesn't really work that way, but I am gearing up for a BFP! And I am a little nervous about it!

This sort of happened to me. LO #1 was a surprised we were NTNP but we didn't expect it to happen so soon. :)

I dumbly thought it would happen fast again and for some reason it didn't... so I didn't join the TTC boards (but I was stalking it... boy does it move fast!) till after 6+ months and so I actually went straight into the 6+ month TTCing boards which is a lot smaller and actually fit my personality better which was nice!

I hope this doesn't happen to you. If I were to do it all over again.. I would definitely start with the normal TTCing board. Warning it moves fast! Haha.

Good luck!  Very exciting.  :)

@californiadreams: I remember the nurse telling me we might want to refrain until the LH surge for that reason. This time, I was told by my fertility acupuncturist that sperm count would go down but the quality would go up. I don't know if that's true or not.

@Adira: thanks! great tips. I will start by checking out that website :)

@travelgirl1: that does help. I think we are going to try as long as we have energy...maybe not the night before my defense, but who knows, lol. I am only worried because i heard that sperm count goes down if you try too often? i don't know if that true or just something i heard with no evidence.

@raspberries:  thanks, i will!

@californiadreams: If it helps, my first two pregnancies were conceived on either the day of ovulation or the day before it. This one could have been any of the three days leading up to ovulation. So you do have a wider window than you might think, but everybody is different. The clinic told me day before and day of are the two best. Some people like the sperm meets egg method (I think that's every other day leading up to O)

@californiadreams: How exciting!! I would join a POAS thread - those girls are awesome cheerleaders and can give you a ton of advice. Plus it's always nice to have people going through the same phases as you, whether it's waiting to start BDing or in the TWW or what-not. Good luck!! <3

ETA: And if you're interested in charting at all, check out the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Also, fertilityfriend.com has some great FAQs and has it's own digital book with lots of info on charting.

@travelgirl1: I guess I need to read up on what to look for! I just finished my period yesterday, so from what i understand, i shouldn't ovulate till next week if my cycle is typically 28 days (it has varied fro, 26 yo 30 days over the past year or so)

@californiadreams: Yeah, I used the digital ones... $70 a month plus tax. But I had longer cycles, they're cheaper with fewer sticks. Do you have any signs of ovulation like cm changes? If you can spot those you will have a good idea.

@travelgirl1: lol, what does OPK stand for? ovulation predictor kit? i am just guessing. and are they expensive? I don't want to get too caught and just enjoy trying naturally in the beginning and see what happens.

So I have never started a thread in the TTC section before. I have an almost 2 year old LO who was a happy surprise - we conceived on Valentine's day just as we started talking about TTC in the near future and i guess sub-consciously we were less careful with birth control ;) I found out i was pregnant at almost 8 weeks that time.

Now we are ready for baby #2 and i want to utilize the TTC boards! I just don't know where to start. We want to start trying this month. I have been tracking my period for the past year on the iPeriod app. Since I got my period on November 5th, it says I should try between November 14th and 19th. Does that sound right? I don't want to bother with ovulation test kits or anything just yet. I am still about 5% hesitant on trying this month or waiting a few more for job-related reasons. But this is also my last shot to have a baby before I turn 35, so we are going for it naturally!
