R started her place on Monday. I took her to visit the Friday before Memorial Day (old place had a teacher work day) so she would at least know it. I stayed with her but she played for an hour.

We get there right when they open, 715, so there are 2 different teachers that cover the mornings till her teacher gets there at 8. R was a little uneasy when I handed her to the director when she was showing me where to put stuff in the room. But was ok since she could see me. The director handed her off to the teacher and she was unsure but ok since she could see me. But when I walked away with the director she started crying. I emailed the director at lunch and she said she cried for less then a minute, went to her teacher no problem. Her teachers say that she is doing great. She had a good nap on Monday (crib), but not so much Tues and Wed (cot). But she is teething so that might be part of it.
All in all it is going far better then I thought. She still gets a little uneasy when I drop her off but I think that is cause she has to get use to everyone. The teacher was running late this morning, so I left her with the director.

I think I am having a harder transition. I loved her old teacher and center (switched due to location) and I miss the ways they did things. I also am not liking that R's isn't the teacher's favorite!

We are moving her to the other location for the daycare she is currently at after her birthday so she will be in the 2's room there. We are doing a trial day tomorrow. I have the day off so I won't be rushed with drop-off.

I know some other people have recently moved their lo's to new daycare centers. How did the first day go? Did they do okay?

I know her and in new situations, she likes to scope the place out before joining in. So, I may stick around for a bit until she gets comfortable and then leave for an hour or two. I am picking her up before lunch.

She will start full time there next Friday after three more days at her current daycare. I hope this "trial" day doesn't throw her off too badly!
