I'm up 3lbs at 7 weeks and doubt it will slow much from here. I'm either starving or nauseous and eating to keep it away

I only gained 4 lbs during the first tri...but I gained 45 total by 41 weeks! I think the rate is different for everyone. :)

I'm six weeks and feeling pretty tubby. I'm up maybe two pounds from what I was when I first found out, but I managed to lose some weight after I found out so I'm kinda fluctuating. I feel like its really obvious and I feel pretty gross. :(

I gained a ton in my first tri---a ton! I'm only 23 weeks right now, so I can't say how this will end, but I think it's safe to say I'll be gaining more than the minimum 25. At this point, I would be happy if I "only" gained 35-40.

I'm at 13 weeks and it seemed like I gained about 3 lbs right away by about week 8 or 9, but that hasn't changed much since then. I'm maybe up another .5-1lb now. I've actually noticed small amounts of weight loss in the second so I think I need to eat more.

I gained 13 lbs in the first tri with my daughter, and I'm pretty sure close to 70 overall. My OB was really stressed out for me after the first tri and I got a lot of "healthy weight gain" lectures directed my way. I can't say why, but that's just how my body reacted, I really didn't change any behaviors, I was eating what I could, but not a significant amount, and maybe a little more ice cream to help with the nausea. But really, nothing extraordinary. By mid-second tri I politely asked them to stop telling me my weight gain and they stopped lecturing me.

With this pregnancy, I started out 20 lbs lighter than in my first pregnancy, and I've lost about 5lbs. I'm 13 weeks now and I'm hoping that I'll start gaining at some point because I'll likely get the other form of weight gain lecture from my OB.

Basically, I just think our bodies are just going to do what they're going to do during pregnancy. I try to eat as best as I can, and give up control on the rest.

Yep! I had insatiable hunger the ENTIRE first trimester, and coupling that with exhaustion... yeah, I gained about 12 pounds that first trimester. Eh. I'm at 23 weeks and 25 pounds now, which is ridiculous considering I'm eating less and moving more buttttt I guess that's just how my body treats pregnancy!

I did! I was afraid of the impending morning sickness so I indulged in all my favorite foods, but alas, morning sickness never came, but the pounds sure did. Oops!

I did! The only thing that made me feel better was keeping my belly full. I ended up gaining over 40 lbs my entire pregnancy. I was never too worried about it though because there is a reason why you are hungry and crave certain foods IMO. We had a healthy baby so that's what is most important.

yep! i gained 7lb by 13 weeks. i think 4 of the lbs i gained by the 8th week. oops. i think it was because we went on a cruise during my 5th week and there was so much food everywhere. i ended up only gaining 28lbs though so in hindsight it was okay. i was definitely envious of those that didn't gain anything their first trimester tho!

Ugh, yes! I am at 13 weeks. I'm not sure what my weight gain is right now but at my week 11 appt I was up 9 lbs. My doctor hasn't mentioned it yet so I'm not too worried about it. Hopefully it slows down here soon.

I'm around 8 weeks and in the past month have gained almost 4 lbs! I've probably gained around 5 lbs overall. I still have more than a month left in my first trimester, yikes.
I'm not really worried though, I think I gained 8 lbs in my first tri with my daughter and still only gained 25 lbs overall.
We still haven't told most people but I feel like 5 lbs over a short period on a small frame is getting kind of obvious, luckily still in winter clothes.
Anyone else's body just start gaining weight as soon as they get pregnant?
