We had the MaterniT21 and NT scan. I honestly can't understand why anyone wouldn't choose to be more informed. I also had my MaterniT21 bloodwork done before the NT scan and I was really glad I did. The NT scan showed a possible soft marker for Downs, but my blood test results ruled that out. I would have been panicked for nothing.

I had all of the tests done. At first I only opted for the screening because it would be are only ultrasound until 20 weeks. I will get it in the future though. From the screening they found a few red flags. After my 20 week ultrasound I am getting growth scans to monitor the baby because of a potential issue with the placenta. If I did not get this testing, and my baby did stop getting its nutrients, I don't even know. It's such a scary thought. So even though the test came with quite a bit of stress, I'm glad that my baby is being monitored.

With our first two no additional screening. We will be getting additional screening this time due to my high risk status.

Parental genetic screening, MaterniT21, and NT scan were all offered and we declined every one because we had no risks factors. We ended up getting MaterniT21 because of a finding at the anatomy scan.

All the ones offered. Why not? I have had too many friends find out late in pregnancy there is a problem with their child and have to make difficult decisions.

With my 1st two I had no 1st trimester screenings. It really wasn't important to me and my OBs office doesn't push it. With my 3rd, I got the Materni 21 test - I was older and knew my insurance would cover it. But honestly the main factor was to find out the sex early.

We did the Panorama screen. For me, knowledge is power. Why would I not take advantage of the opportunities to gain more knowledge?

Same as you with your first. I didn't do any. I guess you have to ask yourself, what would you do with the information once you get tested? I wouldn't be willing to do an amnio (or terminate the pregnancy). I feel like there are to many false positives and the way my personality is, I would be worried sick the whole time. If I'm blessed with number 2, I will be 35 (or older) when I deliver. I think I will still skip the first tri tests again.

I'm only very newly pregnant. But I plan to do only testing that would reveal issues that I can/would need to be prepared for at birth. If there is nothing that can be done about the issue being tested for, then I don't think I will test for it. That being said, I don't even know which tests are offered! Best of luck with whatever testing you decide to do. :goodluck:

All the ones offered. NT scan, bloodwork, and Panorama cell free testing. My reasoning was, why not? If there was something wrong, I would want to know as early as possible so we could have as much time as possible to decide/do more intensive testing like CVS.

What first trimester screenings/testing did you do? I'm 8 weeks with our second baby. With our first, we chose not to do any of the typical first trimester screenings. This time, I'm 35 (or will be in a couple of weeks), so I'm thinking that it might be smart to do some of the testing. My next appointment with my midwife will be at 10 weeks, so I want to have some questions and background info when we meet with her again. Which tests did you do (and why)? Thanks so much!!
