And I think she may be saying "da" for dog, because she looks right at the dog and says it, and the other day my mom was on speaker phone and her dogs barked and Madeline said "da!" He has some play fruit and chases the apples and oranges and plums yelling "ball!"</p> <p>Granted, a lot of non-round items are also "ball," so to him it might mean "object I like and I can see" but it's definitely his first word.</p> <p>My ILs were trying to convince me he said "birdie" at 11 months.
