When LO started daycare our pediatrician told us to expect a new cold every two weeks the first year (one cold would roll right into another for us! It sucked!), every three weeks the second year and every four weeks the third year. She started at 3 months old and I think she was semi-protected because she was EBF for the first year. The second year has probably been harder for LO but I haven't gotten as sick nearly as often. LO started in summer of 2013 and we caught all the colds. This past winter we only got one serious cold (but it was awful). We just had our first cold in 3 months. Our first daughter started daycare in January and was sick almost continuously through the end of May. It was AWFUL. No one slept in our house, ever.</p> <p>This year (she attends in school years), she has still had illnesses, but not back to back. Before this, I was relatively healthy, just normal seasonal illnesses. </p> <p>I've heard it gets better, and I would love to hear that it really does (for both LO and myself). </p> <p>Also, I love that my 19 month old gets a cold, and is down for a day ... I catch it, and it takes me out for a week. </p>
