Definitely lots of praise for the snugabunny. It's actually on sale at BRU right now but I will check nbd too since it's usually much cheaper. Glad everyone thinks it's gender neutral enough. We're opting for as many gender neutral pieces as possible since we plan to have more kids. Thanks everyone! You've been a ton of help.

We have the snugabunny swing and LO loved it and we had no issues what so ever with it. It was a great swing, I loved that it plugged in so we didn't have to deal with batteries & at times it was the only thing that soothed LO!

We have the bunny for LO and it was a lifesaver. She stopped using it around 4.5 months, but we could NOT have survived without it for the first 3 months! We chose that one mostly due to the plug. All the other baby gear use enough batteries as it is!

@marionberry: We have the snuggabunny version for our son (and the m,atching bouncer as well) and I didn't think about it being manly or not when we bought it. I wanted something gender nuetral in case we have a girl next time and I thought it could be used for either.

@marionberry: SNUGABUNNY ALL THE WAY!!!!

We had a FP swing and LO hated it. I think she napped in it twice successfully. Daycare has the snuggabunny and she loves that thing. We're def getting snuggabunny for #2.

@marionberry: We have the Snugabunny . . . I think it's fairly gender neutral (with the coloring). My LO hated it when she was small, liked it around 3ish months, and loved it shortly thereafter . . . she still loves it now at almost 11 months (she weighs right around 18 pounds). My LO is on the smaller side, so she's not even close to the weight limit. Being able to plug it in was awesome(!) and we didn't have any problems with the motor.

The bunny was fine for my boy! It's very neutral - mostly beige with a little green and brown. One of the reasons I liked it was that it wasn't hideous in the living room.

@marionberry: I would have gotten the Snugabunny regardless of gender. I also liked that it could plug into the wall. I'm so sick of changing batteries on our bouncer!

We have the Snugabunny brand new, and were handed down 2 other FP swings (older models). I don't remember the names since I've distributed them among the parents' houses. We just tried one the other day and it did have a loud motor sound for the mobile part and the music stopped working. But she still thought it was interesting. I think they take quite a bit of abuse.
Oh - and our Snugabunny makes a weird noise if the base is even close to the wall. So I have to move it out a couple of inches away from the wall and no more noise.

I was just going to comment that the swings that both plug in and take batteries is really the best option! I made my decision on the Fisher Price Zen swing for that reason, that was two years ago.

I have the lamb one and have absolutely no complaints. It's actually a loaner from friends and my LO is the third baby to use it (and love it!) in the last 3 years. It works perfectly. And it's very masculine- dd doesn't mind it though ;)

My advice if you get a battery operated swing is to invest in rechargeable batteries. That thing uses batteries like crazy!

Thanks you guys! This makes me feel much better. I have read that FP is really good about sending replacement parts so I think I'll just go ahead and stick with the FP swing.

Another question to you ladies: Is the Snugabunny manly enough for a boy? Or would you stick with the lamb swing? I really don't like the monkey version but they just came out with a puppy one I could maybe go for if I had to.

You will find motor complaints for every single swing on the market (trust me -- I did a roundup for a product website recently).

I think the Lamb swing doesn't plug in, while Snugabunny does. That's huge. Also don't think the Lamb swing has a five-point harness. Go for the bunny! It made it through one LO and is soon to be dusted off for No. 2.

We have the snugabunny. The most recent nap in it (at a terrible napping time) was at like 9 months old!! And dd is almost falling out of it, she's way too tall. It did break once when dd was about 4 months old but since it was on like all the time during the newborn stage, I don't think I can really complain. FP sent me a new, free motor and it's been working ever since. It does make some noise now..but since dd is like 20lbs...I think I'll cut it some slack. ;) We have been definitely happy with FP and our experience with the snugabunny!

I have the my little lamb swing. It's a good swing and I used it for 2 kids. Mine is kind of broken now though. It doesn't work that well unless you give it a push when you turn it on. However I will say that my DD played with it a lot and leaned on it after she outgrew it, and we didn't take that great care of it for DS and it still lasted him until he was done with it. I actually like that its battery operated. Was handy for me when I had no power during a hurricane.

ETA: little lamb is an older model and perhaps there might be more bad reviews as people use the swing longer

I don't know anything about the little lamb swing but we had snugabunny and my daughter loved it. It worked for us for about 6-7 months and then she got too big for it, though she was a bit on the smaller side of babies so it might not last that long for most. Oh but that it was plug in and not battery operated was a huge reason why we chose to get the snugabunny though.

We originally registered for the My Little Lamb Fisher Price Swing because we liked the look of it for our son more than the Snugabunny. But when I look at BRU reviews, they seem to dislike the My Little Lamb swing more. It appears there have been a lot of complaints about the swing breaking or the motor going out. I find the same complaints though for the Snugabunny. Do you think we should opt for the newest version (Snugapuppy I think) assuming it would've fixed these issues?

Help please! What's been your experience with these swings and what did you register for?
