My Goddaughter wears one but just because she thinks it's cool to try and beat her dad with how many steps she takes. She's 7.

A co worker has one for her tween. She got it for sleep monitoring as she was staying up late and not getting enough sleep. /she also has competitions with the grandparent so it's kind of a family activity thing

I have a student who wears one for medical reasons. A few of the other boys look up to him and want to be like him (in the best way possible - kid is awesome), so wear them as well.

Yea I know a kid who used an Apple Watch for a medical condition too.

A regular fit bit step counter though I could still maybe see. When McDonald's had those happy meal ones (that later were recalled because they caused burns) my daughter really liked the idea of them.

I think kids totally still have enough free time to make choices about their fitness levels.

A co-worker's daughter wears a Fitbit all the time do to a heart condition - her heart rate sometimes goes into overdrive. So for her it's a medical necessity. She's 4 years old and really responsible about not taking it off or allowing anyone else to take it off her, besides her parents.

Some of my elementary students have been wearing fitbits to school and it seems odd to me. Can't think of a benefit since students have very little control over how much exercise they get during the day. Am I missing something? Would you buy one for your child?
