In MFP you can choose "breastfeeding" as one of your foods. There are options for how old your baby is and it gives you 100-500 calories. Sadly at 14m I'm not even counting the 100-200 calories BF might burn each day.

i am on mfp and at first I created an exercise, called it breastfeeding, and set it to 500 calories. But i found it annoying to enter every day, so in the end, i set my profile to "maintain my current weight", because if i were to set it to lose 1 pound per week, it would just subtract 500 calories that i was adding back in. Plus that way, i can see better when i burn calories from actually exercising, which I like.

@Thehistoryofus: thanks! Don't think I want to do WW but will keep it in mind.

@prettylizy: Yeah I guess that's what I'll do just add nursing as a work out.

I haven't found anything, although apparently you can just manually adjust your MFP daily calorie goal to give yourself extra calories for nursing (which is essentially what WW gives you). I personally just added a 'cardio' option daily, called it nursing and said it burned like 400cal/day.

@MamaMoose: I know weight watchers does. It basically just gives you extra points to eat if you are nursing. It also have options for nursing full time (LO not on solids) and nursing part time or LO on solids.

Does anyone know of an app for tracking calories and exercise that is set up to work for nursing moms? Some family members of mine have been using my fitness pal and loving it. I checked it out and while it's really cool I can't get it to account for nursing. Hubs says I should just add enough exercise to show I burned an additional 500 calories each day, but I'd love something that can actually properly account for breastfeeding.
