Great thread :)

1. I am left-handed and so is DH. My dad, sister and uncle, DH's brother and mother are also lefties. Hopefully our kids will be, too :)

2. My first plane trip was to Japan when I was 7 months. My mom took me by herself to visit her parents. In total, I've been to Japan 8 or 9 times.

3. I lived in Hawaii for a few years after college with an ex-boyfriend. It's beautiful but too expensive and the same weather every day. I missed the autumn months.

4. I have horrible eyesight. I am -15 in one eye and -13 in another. I don't even qualify for lasik.

5. I grew up in Colorado and went to college in Vermont - I have never learned how to ski or snowboard.

I'll play!

1. I don't have perfect pitch, but I can accurately recognize any white key played on the piano without looking.

2. Everyone is confused by our dog's name, but it's based on a word that my DH and I made up in undergrad so it's special to us (cheesy I know). It's the first part of my username here!

3. I'm a psychologist and my favorite "psych" fact to share is that contrary to popular belief, suicide rates are actually highest in the late spring/early summer and not during the winter.

4. My birthmark is on my face. I work with children and can't tell you the number of times I've been asked why I have a little bit of poop on the side of my check.

5. The first thing I do when I wake up (after wishing for more sleep) is mentally run through my entire day in 15-minute increments.

1) I have lived within a 100 miles of where I was born my whole life. We are going to have to move 14 hours away in a year, so it will be a huge adjustment.

2) DH is Vietnamese and all 3 of my brothers have dated at least one girl that is part Asian. I secretly want them to all marry Asian girls so our LOs have cousins that look like them.

3) I met DH through Boy Scouts (we were both members). I have reservations about letting any future sons join scouts, however.

4) I love romantic comedies and I love reading chick-lit. I also like to read books about resilient teens.

5) In college I went on a study abroad trip and hated almost everyone I went with. All they wanted to do was drink and party between the presentations we had to go to. I met someone in my graduate studies (we both had undergraduate at one school and graduate at the other) that also went on the trip the year before me, and had the exact same experience. If only we had gone on the same trip.

1) I can wiggle my ears on command

2) I grew up on a Christmas tree farm and still go back every year to cut our own tree.

3) I met my DH when I was an ice cream scooper in high school and he was a cook. He was my first boyfriend. We reconnected after 10 years via Facebook.

4) I lived in Montana (from NH) on a whim after graduate school and ended up living there for 3 years before moving back to the east coast.

5) My nickname from my mom is Toots or Tootsie. She still refers to me this way all the time and I sign every card and email to her with it.

1) I have no pigment in my eyes, so in person they look dark blue but they are red in all pictures. My wedding photographer even had to photoshop them blue.

2) I already have 13 nieces and nephews if you count step-siblings, if you don't then I have 11.

3) I never leave the house without makeup on

4) Walking Dead is my favorite TV show, Law & Order SVU is a close second

5) I work in insurance to pay the bills, but if I won the lottery I would quit and become an artist. That is where the majority of my natural talent lies, but my Dad would never have let me major in art in college or enter the professional art world. It's a good thing, because I met my DH at our first insurance job! :)

I don't even know if I can come up with 5 random facts! Let's see...

1.) SO and I DVR Jeopardy every night so we can watch it together while we eat dinner. We both took the online test recently, and we both did horribly on it.
2.) I went to private, Catholic schools my entire life, including college, but I am not the least bit religious now.
3.) I've had the same best friend for 15 years, but when we first met, we hated each other. I thought she was an immature, spoiled brat, and she claims she was intimidated by me. We were forced to spend a lot of time together because of sports and ended up becoming inseparable.
4.) I'm a middle child and I totally believe in "middle child syndrome."
5.) I have a history of having the worst landlords ever, including one who was arrested for beating his wife and kids, and later, attacking the tenant he had after me, and one who came into our apartment every single day while we were gone and looked at all our stuff - we set up a motion detector camera after we got suspicious and caught her.

This is fun! Okay, I'm Cherrybee and:

1) I write left handed, eat right handed and play a right handed guitar upside down (like Hendrix!).

2) I live a charmed life - I've never broken a bone, never had a filling, never had a tooth out and never been admitted to hospital.

3) My Great Uncle killed his wife and kids with an axe.

4) I walk like Tina Turner when I wear heels.

5) I'm famed for my impressions - which all sound like Macy Gray.

1. No job I ever worked at had any inkling that I didn't have a higher education. I quit school right after I turned 18 to deal with some emotional stuff, and ended up going doing night classes in college when I made my own choice to do so in my mid-20s.

2. My mom says I'm the miracle child - she had 2 miscarriages after my sister and was told she could never have kids again. 6.5 years later there I was.

3. I'm a complete slob and my DH HATES it. We are complete opposites in every way!

4. I was burned head to toe by esthetic wax when I was 4 - my mom was getting her legs waxed and the esthetician had the pot plugged in and sitting on a rolling chair, of course I went outside to get my Barbie and tripped on it, dumping it all over myself.

5. Unbeknownst to me, my DH worked at a frozen yogurt shop at the mall near where I grew up, where he was constantly picking up girls in short skirts from the Catholic school next door. I always knew him as "the dirty greasy gino at FroYo" until we formally met in person years later.

1) i have to own a spare hairdryer. I've had hairdryers die on me and it was my biggest fear to not have a backup. WEIRD.
2) I just realized that I've never changed a baby girl's diaper. I've always been around baby boys! It's a good thing i had a boy!
3)I would love to be on Jeopardy some day.
4) i am a voracious reader and regularly mispronounce words b/c I only know how to read them & their definition, not how to pronounce them.
5)I suck at coming up with random facts.

1) I have a twin and my husband is a twin. I'm a little terrified that my next pregnancy will be twins.

2) I'll read nearly anything. Last year I read over 250 books but know that I won't be nearly that good this year since LO is here.

3) I worked as a research librarian for 3 years, while in college.

4) I accidently double-majored in college while graduating in three years.

5) DH and I had never dated anybody before we dated each other. We met in college, hung out as friends for quite a while, and started dating right before I graduated. We were each others' first kiss.

I'm really enjoying reading all this info about our bees!!

@mrbee: I'm wanna know more about your #1 fact!!

About me:
1) I'm a HUGE tomboy. I love camping and doing adrenaline rushing things like sky diving, roller coasters, scuba diving, etc. So while I do want a daughter, I'm not sure how I'll handle the girly stuff, even though I did pageants as a lil kid.

2) I'm a pretty laid back person when it comes to food (I eat everything), but am OCD about which half of a sandwich I'll eat - only the right side.

3) I read over 3,000 books in 3rd grade.

4) Hubby and I were both raised in the suburbs, and currently live in the 'burbs, but we also own 36 acres of land with our 8 cows. Neither of our families have experience with country life, but we're loving it!!

5) When I hear a good song, I can't help but sing and dance along no matter where I'm at. If I'm at work, I'll lip synch and just move my head/shoulders to the beat.

Oh man this is fun (although I realized when thinking of these how boring I am haha!)

1. I will read anything, books are like a drug to me, I get completely drawn in to a story and have to know the outcome.

2. I am a Type A personality, I have lists for everything, but my DH has been able to tone it down some and brought some spontaneity into my life...and it has been great for my stress level!

3. I have 4 best friends, all of whom I've known since at least HS (1 was preschool, 1 was kindergarden, 1 was jr. high, and the last high school.) We talk through email, text, phone every day.

4. My DH and I met at wedding, he called me Amy (he was drunk)...not my name....not even close to my name. His cousin called me Amy as a joke until we got pregnant with LO and then he finally stopped.

5. I'm scared to have a son (if we ever have one) I've only grown up around sisters, nieces, girls! I won't know what to do with his little pee pee :)

1.) I have tried desperately since I was in middle school to give myself a nickname because there were so many girls with my name but none of them ever stick. The attempts included (but weren't limited to) Kit Kat, Cricket, Casper, and Kate. ETA: To this day, I still don't have a nickname :(

2.) My first year in college, I was part of the university fencing club. This was fun because I had never fenced before but I actually managed to hold my own against some of the more 'senior' fencers. Unfortunately, I haven't done this since.

3.) I met one of my best friends by mentioning the above fact at an orientation for transfer students. She came up to me and asked, all wide-eyed, if I still had my swords from fencing and I hated to disappoint her but I didn't But it was a great opening to a great friendship!

4.) I don't want to be a SAHM but I am. I look forward to the time when I can go back and finish my education and go out to work. While I appreciate the positive impact my being a SAHM has on my kids, especially my toddler, and I want to homeschool them when they get a bit older, I still want to go out and do something that's just me and has nothing to do with them.

5.) My husband crashed my date at my prom and that's how we met. He was there to see my date (who was visiting form out of town and a mutual friend) and when we met, we just hit it off. He's seven years older than I am so I was just 17 - about to turn 18 in 4 days - and he was 24, about to turn 25 in a month! Talk about robbing the cradle.

@MrBee: Your last two sound like my husband! He loves the newborn stage but he much prefers toddlers because he's rather rowdy with the kids. And, he's never been alone with the kids for more than 2 hours tops.

My 5 facts

1. I met, dated, and married my husband all within about two months (late Feb.to early Apr.). And, I got a BFP 16 days after we were married. We like to live in the fast lane, apparently.

2. My husband and I were married on the 1st of April. I love it because it's a perfect representation of how fun-loving we are as a couple. This year was our 3rd anniversary and we are more in love now than when we were married. ETA: Part of our anniversary celebration always includes an April Fools' joke on the other.

3. My half-brother just married a woman with the same name as me. So, while I gave up my maiden name, there is now another member of the family with the same exact name as my maiden name. haha

4. I've been shocked by lightening. When I lived with my parents, they didn't want to buy a fence for our dog. Sooo... they bought a huuuge dog kennel to allow him to run free several times a day. We still went running on a daily basis but this was his "free time". It had just finished raining when I opened the kennel door. My bare foot was standing in a puddle of water when suddenly, a bolt of lightening shoots down. It strikes the kennel which in turn shocks me. I had muscle spasms for about a year after that.

5. While younger, I was offered an all expenses paid trip to AK to work in a sled dog kennel for the season. I turned it down, unfortunately, because I had just accepted a job here at home.

I love these things!

1. I did synchronized swimming for 10 years when I was younger. Getting to see Olympic synchro in Atlanta in 1996 was amazing.

2. I can move my big toe independently from all my other toes. You will often find me tapping out a rhythm with it.

3. My freshman year of college, my roommates and I were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct for throwing real estate signs on my ex-boyfriend's front lawn.

4. I had an enormous crush on my husband in high school. He had no idea I existed. Some days, I still can't believe that I'm actually married to him, and it makes me giddy like a teenager.

5. My mom nicknamed me "Wink" in the womb. When I was born, I got stuck between contractions, and my left eye was a little smooshed, so the nickname stuck. To this day, if I'm tired (or drunk), my left eyelid closes a bit more than my right.

This is fun!

1. I'm left-handed and the only other person in my family who also was, was my grandfather.

2. Lady M was the first baby I've ever held!

3. I secretly LOVE not going to an office everyday and being a SAHM. I LOVE not dealing with all the bs and everyday stresses.

4. I was a dancer growing up and can still dance around in my old toe shoes when given the chance.

5. Although I use online calendars, I still need to physically write things done for them to feel more real, I guess. That may just be my Type-A (OCD??) coming through. ;)

Fun!

I'm FutureMrsMcK

1) I use this name because when we were engaged we didn't much like the term fiance/e so DH took to referring to/introducing me as "The Future Mrs McK"

2) His nickname for me is Honeybee.

3) When I was growing up my dad and stepmom kept a ton of animals. We used to joke that we should charge admission. The most unique animals they owned were 3 emus named Raptor, Turkey and Sweetie Pie. My stepmom bought them for my dad for his birthday/their anniversary when were still living in the suburbs of San Antonio, so they lived in our backyard.

4) I have met every president that campaigned and was elected since I was born (George Bush Sr, President Clinton, George W Bush and Barack Obama) but never when they were a sitting president, always before or after they held the office.

5) My parents met and married in the Army. They were both in the Army band and were stationed in Germany, where they had the first of 4 weddings. My mom wore an olive green wedding dress (unfortunately my father burned all of the pictures when they divorced) and my dad's former Drill sergeant was one of his witnesses.

1. I got to be the first and only grandchild on my mom's side of the family for 8 years before my cousin and brother were born.

2. I went to school for fashion design and ended up working for a dance recital costume manufacturer and my work life is mostly sparkles and tutus.

3. I'm so type-A that i have lists of lists and plan things way in advance, but i can still be flexible and spontaneous, I just prefer more information than less.

4. I dont consider myself athletic, i never played a sport or on a team. But the last 5 years I've ridden my bike 75 miles from Philadelphia (ish) to Ocean City, NJ for the MS: City to Shore. The only reason i'm not doing it this year is because my due date will be like a week later.

5. I'm still best friends with the 2 girls I went to elementary with from 1st grade on. We've had the best adventures and i can only hope our kids will be just as close.
