It depends on her age, but you can kind of do a combination of both. Also, if this arrangement is new now that you're back at work, it might take a little while for her to adjust and drink more while you're gone. When my daughter first started taking the bottle, it was a gradual increase in amount over the first few weeks. However, if she's a little older and has started solids, I've been through that too - for my daughter it was undiagnosed silent reflux, so the only way to fix it was to fix daytime first and get her on meds

My daughter did this when I went back to work and I waited WAY TOO LONG to do something about it. Like months. And now we finally did what I call sleep training-lite and she's only waking up once earlier on in the night and my life is changed.

How old is DD? Depending on her age I recommend some form of sleep training and then yes I think she'd quickly start eating more during the day.

Hugs. Yea it sounds like just a tough period for sure and I'm sure 6oz isn't enough to get her through the night. The best thing to try is cluster feeding before bed.

I've been back at work for two weeks, and DH is watching DD. Amazingly, he's finally taught her to drink from a bottle, but she drinks maybe 6 oz in the 10 hours that I'm gone. She also nurses once in the morning and once in the evening... plus 2-3 times at night :bummed: I'm pretty sure she's not going hungry, but we all need more sleep!!! Should I find a way to nurse less at night, and hope she gets hungry and starts eating in the daytime? Or wait until she starts eating better and then fight the night wakings? Her solids intake has tanked too... she's decided she hates purees and must feed herself, which usually means she eats very little.
