@hcw718: I don't have a need right now (I went pro when my nephew was born so that there was a secure place for photos of him, since much of their family couldn't be there, I made myself "photographer.") I will probably have something when baby comes (October) but haven't decided yet. Just 100% sure it will NOT be flickr. Best of luck to you if you decide to try to stop paying if it auto-pays.

@kjfromnj ouch! i'll have to look into what mine is set to. i'm not sure how much longer i'll keep mine as the pro option. i don't upload to it enough to keep paying for it.

what are you looking into as a replacement?

I am looking for other options... I just had to cancel flickr pro. It was set to auto-renew quarterly (charging me each time) and I wanted to stop auto-renewing and go back to non-pro for the time. There was NO WAY to stop the auto-debiting quarterly. I tried asking in help, I tried emailing, and got NO help. They told me I wasn't doing auto-renew. Well another month comes and they bill me. More emailing/contacting (which is IMPOSSIBLE, by the way) with no luck. Finally I delete my account. Guess what? Charged again. So I contested the charge through paypal and they refunded it. Still no help/reply from Flickr. I will NEVER use Flickr or Yahoo (who they are affiliated with) again, ever. It was such a headache. Just a word of warning. It looks non-user friendly for a reason.

I use flickr pro, but you may check into unitprints.com. It's free unlimited storage, you can share with family and friends, and the prints are beautiful.

I have been using Pro for the last 4 years, and I absolutely love it. The biggest benefit is the ability to upload unlimited photos in high resolution, which I don't think any other online photo service offers. I use it as a back up for all my edited DSLR photos. Sometimes it's easier for me to search for photos on Flickr (better organized than the folders on my hard drive) and to simply download the original full res photo back to my computer to use the file.

I've used Flickr Pro for six years now and I really like it. You get a few more photo editing and sharing features with Pro, too. Also it's the cleanest of all the photo storage sites and I'm a big stickler for clean websites :)

Also, if you don't automatically renew your subscription yearly they only let you access some of your photos. That kinda sucks, but I always like to have originals somewhere else (hard drive), too so it doesn't affect me too much. Once you pay you have access to everything again.

Does anyone use Flickr, or Flickr Pro, for photo storage/sharing? Now that I have my nice new DSLR, and you know, now that I'm having a baby, I have a feeling I'll be sharing a lot more photos that usual, way more than I'd want to share on FB. What do you use for online storage and sharing? I just reached my Flickr free upload limit-- on the first upload! That is in part because I don't know how to reduce the file size of my photos yet, so, keep in mind I need something easy.

Thinking of upgrading to Flickr Pro for $25 a year-- worth it? Other suggestions for things that are very easy and convenient? I'd be willing to pay a little bit more for greater convenience but hopefully not much more.
