The airlines will tell you they have no control over the weather and will essentially make little to no effort for accommodating travellers. </p> <p>While customer service in the airline industry has changed over the past 10 years due to consolidation and less competition, your experience from 10 years ago was likely more favorable due to being mechanical. We were delayed nearly two hours, and by the time we made it to LAX, we had missed our connection. They were SO nice though and paid for our hotel and gave us meal vouchers at a super nice restaurant in the hotel, and arranged a flight for us the following morning. The airlines are just terrible at customer service these days!! They just don't want to deal with people and cannot think outside the box. We ended up being stuck in Chicago one night… no voucher for hotel because it was weather-related and ended up on a bus to Milwaukee in the middle of the night because that was where our car was and we just wanted to get home that night. I haven't seen my boys since last Thursday and they're supposed to come home today, I was planning to leave in half an hour to go get them! But their plane was rerouted from Chicago to Milwaukee because of a storm in Chicago... But now that they're in Milwaukee the pilot said they're going BACK to Chicago! We live in Minnesota, so it'd make more sense for him to catch a flight from Milwaukee since it's only an hour flight...<br /> DH said Cobi is absolutely miserable :( I feel so badly and now it just keeps getting put off when I'll see them. </p>
