We use cloth most of the time but have used the disposable inserts when we're out for a whole day or gone for a weekend or something. The covers take up minimal space in a wet bag and since we only use the disposable inserts for short periods of time there is always going to be other diaper laundry to do that we can throw the covers in with.<br /> I don't think I would use this system (or any disposable insert/cloth cover) for the long-term because as you said - now you have to do laundry AND you're still throwing something away.<br /> I could be wrong, but I also am pretty sure that the FLIP inserts do not contain the gel that most diapers have to absorb liquids.
