She can get in and out of it fine by herself and even though she always hated the crib she is fine with it now that the toddler railing is up. </p> <p>I'm happy this way too, the people before us had ants downstairs (crib is on the second floor though) so I was starting to imagine little buggers crawling on baby if we had the mattress on the floor. We placed a gate around the entire thing so that he can't get out of it. So it's basically a huge floor crib. It's working really well for us. In a few months, we plan on removing the gate and installing a baby gate on the door so that he can't wander into our rooms. We love the floor bed! We call her danger baby because she's always able to find the most dangerous object in a room. They usually just tell him to go bed and he goes and gets in his bed. He seems to be really happy there too. Little girl is anti-crib, she's fine sleeping on a mattress though either on our bed or on the floor without us. I'm hoping when we move to transition her into her own room and just use a floor bed instead of a crib. </p> <p>Any experiences with floor beds for a little one, she'll have just turned a year but is super mobile. </p>
