It seemed like there were lots of posher hotels in the area and it was beautiful and quieter but just a shortish walk down the beach when we wanted to go out. Really though we spent most of our time on the beach or by the pool drinking cortados and rum drinks. We did go see the Wynwood walls, and that was cool and rode out to the Everglades one day, which was nice-ish but not a must do imo. The hotel we stayed at was the Durham and I would definitely recommend it. The pool/garden area is stunning. However, we are a low key group and our club hopping days are way behind us. Any recommendations on areas to stay in or places to go?</p> <p>Follow up question, we are planning on going in September. I know this is hurricane season. Is this a dumb idea and should we just be looking somewhere else completely? Our other option is NYC. </p>
