Only a couple of the private car services have car seats available and none on short notice. We didn't find this out until flying there - didn't bring a car seat because only time LO would have been in a car was the 1 mile drive from airport to hotel (prior to cruise), which we were comfortable with (in a taxi). Was told only option was renting a car with a car seat....until we asked if any drivers could be incentivized. Yup, turns out some drivers will do it, for $20 to the transportation team (taxis can't just wait for patrons, all rides must go through transportation dept at airport) and a $50 "tip" to driver. Ridiculous and scamy, especially for a city whose main draw is tourism and especially since it's not a city/state law, it's the airport's rule. They did a major overhaul on the city, and it is super family friendly and lots of great condos with fun pools that went in the last few years. It is old Florida at its best-Gulf beaches, a free trolley that means that you can avoid having to drive (and also avoid island traffic!), and just good old family fun times.</p> <p>We spent a week there last spring and we are going back this year. Last year we had a 4 year old and a not-quite 2 year old with us. No specific spot in Florida in mind/I'm open to any and all suggestions.</p> <p>We've stayed at a Disney hotel before and they didn't have the greatest toddler stuff at the hotel we were at. </p>
