Yep. We took LO on her first flight when she was a little shy of 3 months old. I would go to DIsneyland. Your LO is young, but I'm sure she'll enjoy looking at all the colors and characters?

Thanks for all of the positive feedback! I am totally going to make the best of it now. I love Disney but I didn't really think it made sense to go with such a little one. Now I'm getting excited. I appreciate the activity suggestions :)

I think it's doable. You may find your LO very wiggly on the plane (see my recent Vegas post!) but maybe you'll luck out and have a good plane sleeper.

It seems like there would be tons to do with a baby in Orlando. Even just walking around an interesting place (like anything Disney) would be great. And definitely some swimming if the weather is decent or if you can find an indoor pool.

Re: the carseat. We took our Britax -- we got a bag that lets us literally wear it on our back while we're in the airport.

My mom flew with my brother when he was 4 weeks old. And she went with all three of her kids when I was a baby, so 3 kids under the age of 6. So it's possible!

I'm not from Orlando so I don't know everything there is to do there, but you can do Sea World, Magic Kingdom, and Epcot. Oh, and Animal Kingdom. Celebration is a cute town, we went a couple of Sunday's ago and they had a nice Farmer's Market, I don't know if it's every Sunday though. You can walk around Downtown Disney, there's lots of fun stores there.

Have fun! I'd totally go, the first flight with a baby is always stress inducing, no matter how much you prepare, but once you've done it, you'll breathe easy!

I've done a flight with a lap child at about 8 months old, flight was an hour and it wasn't bad. I personally couldn't do it for more than that though, too wiggly!

Orlando would still be a ton of fun! First of all most theme parks would be free for the baby so you could do that. If you didn't want to spend money, Downtown Disney is fun and would be lots of fun things to look at and play and has really good restaurants.

@rubies- I'm hoping your trip is wonderful! Try not to stress, everything will work out and you'll be able to enjoy yourself once you're there! Please keep me posted. How have you prepared for it? Also- what are you doing about the carseat?

@BabyLove: My LO is 6.5 months old and we're going to Florida NEXT WEEK and I'm losing my mind with stress. We're from Toronto, driving to Buffalo, spending the night and then flying the 3+hours to Naples. If I survive the trip, I'll let you know how it goes!

Anyone think it's not a horrible idea? We'd go for a long weekend. The flight is just over 2 hours. We booked a trip for the end of April to meet my Uncle for the first time. Unfortunately, he passed away before we could get there.

Now we have this trip and nothing to do.

Is there anything we can do in the Orlando area that is at least baby friendly? Have any of you guys taken a baby on a flight that young?
