She also gave us the all clear that whatever he has is unlikely to be contagious by Thursday.</p> <p>@PrincessBaby: Thanks for the HFM info. It took me a good week to feel human, and two weeks to feel like my normal self. If it's the flu, he's likely not going to enjoy the trip (which means you won't either), but check with your doctor. I would personally postpone a week or so. If it was really too expensive to change the flights, I might leave my child at home with my parents or something. </p> <p>I don't know if it is the flu or not. I felt very bad for about 2-3 days. I started on tamiflu the day after I began feeling bad. But I was weak and run down for a while. I was pregnant at the time, but prior to getting the flu I was actually feeling energetic and fine. So no, I definitely would not get a plane with a baby that has the flu even 5 days later. I would think he would still be contagious, but I could be wrong. </p> <p>Did he have the flu shot? Maybe it's not flu if he has (or even if he has, he could obviously have caught a different strain)...HFM is going around big time. We just got over it and it started with a high fever. How long will he be contagious?<br /> DH is worried about us getting sick over there but B and I are covered and I doubt they would charge DH if he got sick.<br /> My concern is comfort and being contagious.<br /> What has been your experience with flu?<br /> Would you travel 5 days after onset of symptoms?</p> <p>Really hoping it's just teething or a cold!! </p>
