He was 35 months old and had a fever for 5 days. He spent the entire 5 days cuddling and sleeping and the rest of us didn’t get it. As sicknesses go, it was an easy one to handle. It was a fever of like 100 on an off all day for about 5 days. And then stuffy nose followed by cough caused by the same. I had a 24-hour fever around the same time with one day of throwing up. Now I have baby's cold. So not the flu, but still unpleasant. I don't know which strain but it was pretty mild for us as well. He was a little off on a Wednesday, very tired with a low fever on Thursday but still cheerful. Then his fever spiked to nearly 103 but responded well to tylenol &amp; ibuprofen and a cool bath on Thursday night. He started Tamiflu the next day, was fever free by late Friday night and bouncing off the walls until he was back in school on Monday. </p> <p>LO2 was given Tamiflu for a few days as a preventative measure and didn't get it. It was pretty mellow, though I did run a fever off and on for a few days. Since I was exposed to someone who had the flu, they gave me tamiflu on Wed mornng and symptoms immediately started improving. I didn’t go to work on Wed or Thurs but I was acting pretty normally yesterday and didn’t even nap. Talking seems to make me more tired and I start to cough though. Runny nose is totally gone. I’m still staying home from work today bc I think a few more days of rest is needed and I’ll be back to 100 percent. She had a fever of 101 when she woke up Saturday, I took her in right away since kids in her class had been diagnosed with flu. Tested positive for influenza A, but her fever was only 99.6 in office. Started tamiflu right away, fever free by Monday, back to school on Wednesday. She was a little more mellow than usual, but otherwise it was the mildest flu ever. He woke up Monday morning with a 103.6 degree fever so I immediately called the pediatrician and made an appointment. But I didn’t give him any meds because he was acting totally normal. When we got to the ped at 9:30 his temp was 100.7 and I was feeling really silly for bringing him in. I was shocked when the flu test came back positive!! We started Tamiflu right away and by noon his temp was under 100 and never came back up. Despite having a high fever and cough, it’s been a mellow virus. He did get a flu shot and he’s been taking Tamiflu, but he acts 100% normal. It’s kind of weird!</p> <p>How was your LO with the flu? Did everyone in your house get it? So far, DS1 is the only one but I’m waiting for someone else to get it... </p>
