Our doc told us that it takes two weeks for the vac to reach full effectiveness. I am on pins and needles because my son is on the two vax dosage for the flu this year and the second dosage isn't until January. Lesson learned.

@irene: Haha, too funny!!

And I bet that he comes around eventually and loves your LO to pieces and beyond. Once the kids started talking and became more interactive, everything just go so so much more fun and rewarding!

@mrbee: re- "this stuff isn't as easy as it looks": oh yeah, he would come back and say see that's why I said I do not want a baby in the first place. And for the mess, he would say well because I didn't try and I didn't want to because I am not the one who wanted a baby. You can never win with him. Ha

But he did step up and I do have to give him credit :) they are both napping now out of exhaustion. Hilarious.

@irene: Wow, that's amazing that he's doing such a good job!!

And haha, it's even good that he's so messy... maybe he will realize that this stuff isn't always as easy as it looks!

@mrs. wagon: 3 days??? Good for you. Today is my 2.5 day and while I am much better than yesterday, I feel that this thing is transitioning into a big cold. Hopefully it will be gone in another 24 hours like you said!

@mrbee: yes he did everything on his own ok. I always know he can do it he just refuse to. Yesterday at 3 he told me to go to urgent care and I was like but u have to pick LO up now and you can't take care of him on ur own. He said I can if I wanted to. So off I went. He fed him dinner, have him a bath, bedtime, and deal with night wakings (LO is sick too). This morning he gave him breakfast and all, and took him out to lunch and put him down for a nap. All on his own and this has never happened before. So in a way this is nice for him to step up. Except he left a tornado of mess (which is what he often complains about me, and he is 10 times worse)and he kept saying to LO "mommy is sick don't get near it is mommy's fault she gets sick". That is another story for another time. Sigh

@abbydabbydoodlebug: yes I feel a lot better already and it is not even 24 hours yet - just glad the aches are gone!

Tamiflu worked awesome for me a couple years ago when I got the h1n1 flu. I felt so much better within 24 hrs. Hopefully it'll work quickly for you. Feel better!

Both LMW and I got the flu vaccine and the flu has just gone through our house! :( Boo to this year's flu vaccine. Feel better soon!! It seemed to have a 3 day duration for us. Longer for me but I was out and about at work, holiday party, etc.

This is a rant, I apologize, but ....?????!???

I had a flu shot in November. Went out shopping last wed-Thursday, and got flu symptoms on Saturday (basically very sick with chills and aches). Was confirmed yesterday at an urgent care and now on tamiflu. They said I would pretty much feel like crap until the weekends. What???

Daycare is closed for 1.5 weeks and I was looking forward to spending time with LO. Instead husband basically quarantined me. I know he is doing the right thing, but I am beyond bummed!! I guess I should be thankful that both of them seems to be fine for now (LO does have a cough and didn't sleep well for the past 2 nights, but doesn't have a fever so I doubt it was the flu I got, or hopefully his vaccine matches up better than the one I got).

No point to this post, just a note to you all that this year's flu vaccine is not very effective so please stay healthy!
