DS 3.5y/o got his too. I think it was his second or third time getting it. I think our doctor starts giving the shot at six months. DD was just a bit too young last fall, but we figured it's no big deal because she was at home. Wrong. She got the flu at 8 months when neither kid was in day care. Still no clue who she got it from. It was awful, she had a fever over 100 for three days straight (despite being on Advil and Tylenol non stop) and could barely eat or drink. And when she got better, DH got it and was laid up for a few days. DS had his flu shot and it looked like he had a very mild case, one day of feeling off and that was it. It was awful. And he was a healthy strong young guy.
