They really did help our family in past years. I was so skeptical at first because of negative experiences in the press and did it really work or not. IRL friends didn't experience anything negative and students in my class seemed to benefit ....I could see who took the shot in my class and who was absent for flu as the year progressed. It took me a couple years to get on board.<br /> ETA: I can't remember when we started. I think it was the first year after LO was born or second. I've found that sometimes DD gets a little weird or sniffly the day after a vaccine, BUT I also have to acknowledge that its probably also due to me actively "watching" her to make sure she doesn't get sick. I've been getting the flu shot every year for the past 6 or 7 years. The ONLY time I had a reaction was the first year when they had the separate H1N1 vaccine - that thing knocked me on my ass! No cold/flu symptoms, but I had to leave work early and slept for like 15 hours straight! But no reaction to the regular old yearly flu shot. No colds though. I do know a few adults that tend to get sick after the flu shot. But I was sorely disappointed when he still had his usual MOTN wakeup after his flu shot.
