I had H1N1 in 2010. I was super sick for about 3 days, then sort of sick for about a week, followed by another week of extreme fatigue. I did not take Tamiflu

Both my kids had flu over thanksgiving. It was terrible. Could be diff for kids, but our pedi does not recommend tamiflu because it only shortens symptoms 16-20 hours, is very expensive and causes vomiting. Like I said, could be diff for adults than kids!

I had the flu last year at about 5 months pregnant and took tamiflu. I felt better once I started the medicine but it took a while to feel 100% - maybe like 3 weeks? I think you could still have it at your house, but I would expect DH may not be a huge help. I got tired very easily and just felt run down for a few weeks.

I had the flu two years ago at 38w4d. I was in the hospital for a day to be monitored for low fluids, then sent home with tamiflu. Within 24 hours, I was 75% better, by day 3, I was 100%. I ended up giving birth at 39w3d and felt amazing. Just make sure he takes the tamiflu and I'm sure he'll feel fine by Christmas Eve!

I was sick for about a week when I had it last year. BUT I have a compromised immune system so I'm slower to get better/heal. I was given Tamiflu. I was pretty fatigued after maybe 3 days but the Tamiflu helped with my other symptoms. Hope your husband feels better quickly and the flu doesn't ruin Christmas.

I had the flu in 2010 the week before Christmas. I had Tamiflu, and while I was well enough to travel to my parents house on Christmas Eve, I still got tired very easily.

Who's had it this year? Did you get tamiflu and if so how long did the symptoms last? How long are you contagious?

DH came down with it yesterday, was diagnosed and got tamiflu today. We're hosting Christmas Eve and Day just wondering how bad he's going to feel and/or if we should cancel but the options to hold it elsewhere are limited.
