@DesertDreams88: I'm so glad you got some better answers (but still so sorry you're dealing with it.) Waiting for the m/c to be over was the worst part for me.

Thanks for the support, friends. My HCG was "stuck" as of yesterday so the doctor sent me to the ER, and I am SO glad. They were so helpful, kind, and informative! My HCG results finally dropped to 1661 as of today, which is the biggest drop I've seen so far, very encouraging. I also got a MUCH more thorough, high resolution ultrasound, almost ruling out ectopic definitively. There's still a small chance but they're leaning back to a "incomplete miscarriage" diagnosis. So I will take the misoprotol sometime Friday/Saturday and we'll see how it goes.

I'm praying for the physical healing part to be over soon so that my emotions and heart can rest a bit more! I just kind of want to sleep for a week. Hopefully this long weekend can meet that need. Medical limbo land is so tough!

No advice, I'm just so sorry you're having to deal with this on top of dealing with the original news of your loss. :( Hugs.

I made a similar post about a friend who is going through almost the exact same thing. Lower hcg levels but the fluctuation just like you're mentioning.

Maybe some comments here will help?:

So I did more research (I am so, so tired of research....) and the blighted ovum / empty g sac in uterus can be a "pseudogestational sac" or a "psuedosac." It happens in 10-20% of ectopic pregnancies. My doctor mentioned the possibility but I just didn't catch the terminology until now.

Ladies, I have to admit I am currently freaking out and need some input / thoughts. I'm going to get a phone call tomorrow with my HCG results from today, but if they've risen at all, my obgyn thinks it's ectopic WITH a gestational sac in the uterus, and she wants me to take methotrexate AND then a little bit later, misoprotol. I don't want to take EITHER! It sucks, because my body feels completely fine and I am 8w today. My HCG was slow rising, dropped in half, and started slow rising again. I don't know what's going on. Could you take a look at my info below and let me know if you have any thoughts?

Monday, Oct 20: 6 week ultrasound but measuring at 5w0d, only a gestational sac. Possibly another g-sac on the screen, unidentified by obgyn but I see a possibility on the print out. /// HCG: 3435 at 6w0d

Wednesday, Oct 22: Brown bleeding started, worse ultrasound /// HCG: 4034 at 6w2d
Friday, Oct 24: 3rd ultrasound shows larger, empty g sac (5w4d), no yolk sac/fetal pole, blighted ovum? /// HCG: drawn but unknown to me
Saturday, Oct 25:	Much more cramping and bleeding
Sunday, Oct 26:	Passed the gestational sac seemingly intact. Very irregular shape / edges. About 2 cm all the way around, with two red clots inside it...
Tuesday, Oct 28:	HCG: 1738 at 7w1d
Thursday, Oct 30:	Bleeding slowing down to spotting

Friday, Oct 31:	Ultrasound still shows a gestational sac stuck 5w2d. I don't know how it's still there, based on the tissue I already passed. /// HCG: 2100 at 7w4d
Tuesday, Nov 4: Did HCG test AGAIN but no results yet.

Here's my hypotheses, what do you think?
- Two fertilized eggs ("twins"), miscarried one, one still stuck there but not growing (blighted ovum)
- Incomplete miscarriage and blighted ovum responsible for HCG levels
- Ectopic with g sac in uterus but embryo in tube??
