Good news! Figured I would update since you all took the time to write to me.

Went to the MFM doctor today and got to re-do my anatomy scan which was exciting. The tech and the doctor each did their own scans of the baby and everything is perfect. The doctor showed me the "band" that I have and said it basically is just scar tissue build up, most likely from my surgery and is nothing to worry about. It is on my left side and not in the way of the baby at all. It will probably shrink in size as time goes on. PHEW!!

@nicollette1189: thank you for writing! I’m hoping that whatever it is, it just reabsorbs as well! I’m 20+ weeks now and they have never mentioned it at my previous ultrasounds so not sure if it just popped up since my last one at 12 weeks or what but we will find out tomorrow!

@yellowbeach: my appointment is at 8:30am tomorrow, est! Can’t wait! I’ve prevented myself from doing anymore googling so that helps

I have two of these right now. I did have a bit of spotting, but it's since resolved. I've had ones with my other pregnancies which didn't bleed, they just reabsorbed. We wouldn't have known about them, but they showed up on ultrasound.

I didn't have fluid, but I had a placental lake which looked similar on US. Mine was associated with some complications, but DS is 100% fine.

Hmm - If yours looks like the image you posted, I'm not sure what thay would be besides a SCH. Your doctor mentioned congential differences (stuff you were born with) but those are usually things like bicornuate uterus that look much different on US.

I think it's hard to say - a very unique situation which I'm sure your MFM on Monday will immediately diagnose and set some expectations for. Good news is right now baby looks totally unaffected. I encourage you to ask any and all questions of your MFM. We had a prenatal dx of a kidney abnormality at our anatomy scan. It was super scary, but having an experienced MFM and a Pediatric Nephrologist on our team made things much much better.

 Hugs

@LabradorLover: my next door neighbor was just telling me yesterday her niece just gave birth monday at 30 weeks from this condition—as she told it, the baby sort of ran out of room because of the wall. However, this woman knew she was high risk super early on and her doctors were very concerned all along. Sorry that is so not informative and anecdotal—it really sounds like the way yours is situated they’re not too worried  and that is terrific that the baby is looking great!!! So happy to hear this. Let us know how it goes Monday and if you get any useful info.

@LabradorLover: I had a uterine wall. It was discovered during a hysteroscopy after I had two miscarriages. It was removed and I got pregnant with my son.

This was 5 years ago but from what i remember My OB explained some women are born with them. My understanding from him is that for some they cause early loss, and for others who have them have normal pregnancy

I hope Monday comes soon and you get reassuring news. My guess is that since you are this far along all is well

@MamaBear87: that makes sense. Plus, not sure if it matters, but my placenta is fundo-posterior so in the back but also on top of my uterus and this fluid pocket is under my uterus above my cervix. I would think if it was related to the placenta, it would be closer to it?? Who knows haha

I did not have one with my last pregnancy but know that an sch, what you're seeing there, is generally seen at the beginning of a pregnancy and is where the placenta didn't quite attach smoothly to the uterus. So I think that's not likely what you have if the doctor is saying it's a fluid filled area.

I'd try not to stress if your doctor doesn't seem stressed. They're usually pretty on top of stuff and will warn you if it's something to worry about

Wondering if anyone has ever had something similar to this or if it is just me... :silly:

Had my anatomy scan yesterday and everything looked great for the baby. The doctor asked me if I have ever had any surgeries or cutting of my uterus before and I said no, nothing other than my TFMR which they are aware of. She then went on to tell me that my uterus is essentially separated into two sections, one containing the baby and the other containing fluid with a “band” or a “wall” in between them.

She said they were not sure why this happens, what causes it or what exactly it is but it isn’t affecting the baby. She referred me to a MFM to whom I go to on Monday but I was curious to see if anyone has heard of this or dealt with this before? She said some people are born with it and you just never know about it until you have an ultrasound during pregnancy. She didn’t seem too concerned but idk!

I have attached a picture that I found on google for reference. It is the only picture I could find that showed exactly (without the wording) what my picture looked like. I started to research subchorionic hematoma and it talks about bleeding, which I have had zero bleeding this whole pregnancy (almost 20 weeks now). So I basically have no clue until I go on Monday to the MFM.

Thanks in advance for any help!
