We flew with LO when he was 5 months old. He was cranky when we were boarding, but I nursed him as soon as we got on the plane and he calmed down. He slept for more than half of each flight. I would recommend not bringing too much luggage because it's hard to carry a baby/push a stroller and lug big heavy bags.
However, if you're not a fan of flying, maybe skip it. If you dread flying, it's not going to be any better with a baby.

I'm flying for the first time with my LO next month and she will be 7.5 months. No real advice here but all my friends tell me it's much easier to fly with a baby less than a year old, so I say go for it!

We're heading out on LO's second trip on a plane and he's 5.5 months. I'll let you know how it goes! If it's anything like his first it will be great :)

In my opinion I figure no time is better than now!

My 6 month old just did great on two 5 hour flights to Hawaii and back...not a peep. Two naps each way. My friends 6 month old also did well. The 17 month old had some issues. It's only going to get harder so I say do it!

We have the opportunity to fly to Florida to see family when LO is going to be around 5 months old. This half excites me (family and warm weather after a long cold winter!) and half stresses me out. Planes have been getting more and more crowded to the point where I dread flying. Part of me thinks manuvering hours of security and airport time and then squishing a potentially fussy five month old into tiny seats along with DH and sounds less than desirable. Trying to make up our minds.... Anyone elsedone this? How did it go?
