I broke it down into two pieces and removed the belly bar and the canopy and put those two items in our carry on. The stroller made it to our destination in perfect condition! She's closer to 25 lbs but of fairly average height and fits in it easily. The stroller handles equally well when I'm using it for her as it does when I put my 6 month old daughter in it. I think the weight limit is something like 40 pounds. We checked our big stroller as bulky luggage. That was great since it got handled with care. Also they might be able to wrap it in foil if you don't have a bag. We did it once with our Bugaboo Cameleon. I'd put the wheels in the drawstring bag under the seat, folded the chassis, and put it in a plastic gate check bag (the seat was in a separate bag). It came back to us at the destination gate with the bag ripped up and a wheel missing. I stayed on the jetway begging people to check the belly of the plane til it showed up! Huge hassle and we nearly lost part of the stroller! I'd be too worried to try it again.</p> <p>Since then I've taken the Maclaren, even though I much prefer the bugaboo...and for my last trip alone with the two kids, I ended up getting a baby zen Yoyo, which you can carry on and out in the overhead bin. I don't have a bag, I just gate checked the stroller and it was fine. Not a scratch on it.
