@Sammyfab: @sandy: Thank you both so much for your insight. Hawaii is about 16 hours of travel with layovers and all so I will have to keep a lot of small things to keep his attention.

@MrsRcCar: we just flew from WA to AL with out 16 month old. We had previously done this trip when she was 8 months and that was a breeze bc she was breastfeeding and not mobile...easy peasy...I had so much anxiety over this trip bc she's super independent and active...she is not a super cuddly baby and loves to walk around.

Our first leg was from Seattle to Houston (a little over 5 hour flight) and she did great. We got an aisle and middle seat and brought a backpack full of books and toys. I filled little bags with small stuffed animals and small toys (my little people). I also picked up random stuff from the target $1 bin (stickers, hello kitty bandaids, sticker books, etc). I also packed a ton of a snacks (dried blueberries, Cheerios, puffs, goldfish - stuff she doesn't get at home). She also just loved playing with the plastic cups and drinking water from them. I also bought the foogoo Thermos containers for taking some fruit (strawberries) as well as a Thermos sippy cup for milk (purchased after you get through security). She doesn't watch tv yet so we didn't do any shows or movies. We sang songs and read books. We also went to the bathroom a few times and she loved saying hi to everyone and thankfully we only walked the aisle once. We had a 3 hour layover in Houston so she got to run around and eat. Then a short flight from Houston to Mobile where she napped the entire way.

Just be prepared and have lots of little toys and snacks :)

We are currently on vacation and my One-year old did really great on the flight (way better than when we flew at 4 months!!). I bought him a couple of new toys, a new open-the-flap book and brought tons of snacks and our iPad (his favourite app is called Peekaboo HD). We will be flying 3 more times in the next couple of weeks so fingers crossed they go just as well!

My family is planning a trip to Hawaii in October. In October at the time of our trip will be a just a little over One Year old. I am looking for advice for traveling on a plane for an extended amount of time. We are pro's at traveling in the car.

Also any Hawaiian Bee's have suggestions on things to do with LO's? (I used to live in Hawaii but I am feeling a little clueless).

Any other advice is welcome.
