We've flown with DS several times and I'm planning to use these next time!</p> <p>Second the carrier, and having a bottle of pumped milk is a great idea. My younger DS is not a comfort nurser and I have trouble getting him to even latch if he's not hungry, so I have to wait at least 2.5-3 hours between nursing sessions. Are you flying with your spouse? Make sure to pack extra (3 extra for baby, 1 extra for you) outfits (yes, include pants) in a carry-on just in case. Wipes, lots of diapers (double what you think you'll need) and extra blankets. Because...you just never know. But I bet you'll do great! I wore her in the Ergo &amp; gave her a bottle during take-off. Then I nursed her to sleep the rest of the flight. Of the three flights she has been on, two of them she slept the entire time. The other one she had a blowout &amp; I was glad I had back up clothes readily available. He was around 6 months and fine on the flight.</p> <p>Just a few quick things:<br /> 1. bring an extra garbage bag, you'll need it<br /> 2. I always pack a foldable tote in my carry on to quickly pack up all the stuff we've taken out during the flight. My goal is to get off the plane as quickly as possible, not puzzle stuff back into carry ons<br /> 3. Pack a gallon ziplock with 2 diapers, a travel pack of wipes and a burp cloth. Put this in the seatback pocket in front of you, bring to the washroom for diaper changes<br /> 4. Use the air sick bag as a "cover" for your LO's bottle. Put this in the seat back pocket in front of you.<br /> 5. Get a small crossbody bag and wear it the entire flight. Put your passport, travel docs, money, etc in it. I just took a frozen bottle out early and hand carried it through security. If you have a screaming baby it was just easier for me. She is a big comfort nurser! Since I knew this would be the case, I brought a travel boppy, which saved my arms from totally falling asleep, and a nursing cover, which helped with privacy, but also to keep it nice and dim under there to help her sleep. </p> <p>If you have a carrier, wear her for boarding and deplaning, so you have two hands to get your bag or whatever (not totally necessary if you don't wear her). </p> <p>Agree with changing diaper, and going to the bathroom yourself, right before boarding. I also found it helpful to have a small diaper clutch at the ready-- just a couple of diapers, wipes, and changing pad, so I didn't have to bring the whole diaper bag when I changed her. Nursed on landing if he woke up. but if he was already sleeping I didn't worry about it. </p> <p>Change LO's diaper right before you board so you (hopefully) don't have to worry about it on the flight. Also you go to the bathroom right before too.
