@Amelieisme: I pumped immediately before the flight and carried them on with me with no cooler (threw them out after 6 hours since he was OK to nurse (phew!).
At security you have to say it's milk for the baby and they take the bottles and put them in a box (I think it tests for explosive particles?)--then they give them back to you unopened.

These things are awesome! Put it in the freezer the day before, the pack itself freezes so you don't need ice packs.

Cooler bag that I carried on with me. I couldn't afford to check it and it get lost/delayed Etc. I used a harder plastic cooler so it wouldn't leak and packed it with ice. For long flights I would get more ice at the airport to make sure it stayed cold.

Cooler bag in my checked luggage. It's always still been mostly frozen when I get home because of the temp in the cargo hold.

I also put it in the cooler bag that came with my pump and it was still cold. Security just made me open the bottles and they put a test strip over it to check for explosives.

@Amelieisme: I used the cooler pack that came with my Medela pump. I put the plastic cooler thing in the freezer the night before and the milk was still really cold when we arrived at our destination.

@Amelieisme: I would just use a cooler bag with frozen ice packs. I do that with pumped milk at work that starts warm and they stay plenty cold from 7am - 5pm.

I guess my main question is how to keep it cold for the flight/time at airport, etc?

I just brought it in my carry-on (pump bag), and told them I had formula and milk. They didn't do much, they let me through with bottled water that I said was for the formula.

I think I've heard that you shouldn't have problems and at most you'd need to taste it in front of them. Looking forward to finding out more though, and good luck!

I flew with baby, but it was super easy. I told them that I had milk right away. I got pulled aside quickly both times so they could check the fresh milk. I used the Pack It freezer bag (I got it at Buy Buy Baby) for my frozen milk and put it in a checked bag. It was still frozen 8 hours later. I brought a couple frozen milk bags with me just in case, they didn't seem to care at all about those.

I write a bunch more about it, it's in my posts from October/November I think.

I think this has been covered before, but I can't find the posts! I am going on a 2 night trip away from LO and would like to ri g he milk I pump back with me, either in checked luggage or carrying it, whichever is easier. Who has done this? How did you pack it (2 hr flight)? Problems with security?

Thanks!
