LO #1 was a big hiccuper in the womb. I constantly felt him hiccuping, and he gets the hiccups all the time...even at 2.5! He was pretty active...especially to music and loves to dance even now.

LO #2 so far, I feel him moving a lot earlier. He's a kicker, but only every so often. We'll see how he comes out!

DS barely moved at all in the womb. This could have had to do with the fact that he was breech the entire time AND I had an anterior placenta. But even in every ultrasound, he would barely move and he would always put his hand over his face like he was saying "don't bother me" lol. He was and still is an amazing sleeper and he's pretty chill about a lot of stuff, but at the same time he can definitely be very active.

This baby.. I have an anterior placenta again but I'm already feeling him/her and I'm only 14 weeks. And when we had our 12 ultrasound the baby would not stop moving!

*waves* I think with all of the events lately, I didn't realize you crossed the halfway point! Yay! Time flies!

Anyway, E was super super chill on the inside. It used to freak me out and I'd worry something was wrong with her because she didn't move/roll/kick like everyone else always describes. She's still overall fairly easy going, but she was pretty chill as a tiny baby. Definitely becoming more of a firecracker every day though. I do not worry about her being shy, that's for sure. ; )

Yup. I have twins and there was a stark contrast between the two. One side was constantly kicking, jabbing, moving and just overall a pretty wild child. The other side was more gentle and chill. They're 18 months now and yes, I still see the correlations today.

In utero both were very active and VERY strong but with long quiet periods. The nurses in L&D were shocked at how strong the kicks were from the outside. Then I'd have mild freak outs because they hadn't moved enough.

Outside they both got physical milestones early and slept through very early. They both sleep for long enough periods where I wonder if they're still breathing.

Not really. Both of mine seemed pretty active in, LO2 even more active than LO1, but they are both pretty calm. LO2 is even really shy.

I only have one, but I feel like she was the same inside and out. She was crazy active (like, shockingly active the docs said) but always let me sleep at night. She also always got hiccups around dinner time in my last trimester. She came out a super awake/alert baby, rarely slept during the day but slept great at night (at first), and still always got the hiccups around dinner time. Now at almost a year she is still crazy active. We have always called her perpetual motion baby :)

I only have one but it does seem correlated to me. Mine was super active in the womb and we joked she'd be the next American Ninja Warrior because it seemed like she just wanted to punch her way out of me. She was a very alert newborn, she crawled and walked early, and now as a toddler she is always on the move. Hoping the next one will be calmer!

DD1 used to push her bum against me until I patted or rubbed her (through my belly) and at 3, is a sweetheart who craves reassurance and cuddles.

DD2 was an aggressive flopper, turner, kicker, and and 31 weeks had me on my hands and knees in pain for over an hour while she attempted some sort of acrobatic manuever in utero. At nearly 1 she is still a very physical kid, flips and flops at night and/or when you try to hold her for more than 30 seconds (though she loves a 30 second cuddle). Her "tired pose" is something she definitely did in the womb (I know this both from what I felt and from ultrasounds; I had 14+) - laying on her side with legs hyperextended in a pike position, crossed at the ankles. She still does this whenever she wants a nap.

@mrsrugbee: yes this is my daughter exactly. Always must be held. Not a fan of sleep. She was super active in the womb. I've read high needs babies normally are.

@mrsrugbee: aww I hope baby 2 gives you a bit of a break. DD1 was like that for me so I ended up just wearing her all day long. DD2 is definitely clingy, but less so, and even a little less, is enough of a break! :silly:

@erinpye: I know exactly what you mean about the clawing. My DD wasnt so intense as she was demanding (you will NEVER put me down, mother!). I fantasize about the possibility of an easygoing child in our future.

The only real correlation I have is that she let me sleep during my "night" (I worked nights and slept during the day) and when she was little, heck, even now, she was an amazing night sleeper.

DD1 felt like she was clawing her own way out from the inside. She kicked SO much, and so hard. She was an extremely intense, colicky infant, and is still very intense and assertive as a 3 year old.

DD2 was a lot calmer in the womb. That could have been because she spent a lot of time breech--I'm not sure. She's calmer than my first, but still had some colic periods and intensity, and is a hilariously-assertive 14 month old whose current favorite word is "no." So yes, she was calmer inside and is a bit calmer out, but it's all relative, because I'm comparing her to her sister, and someone else may find her extremely intense on her own.

I'm curious if anyone has noticed a correlation between their baby's movements in the womb and who they are now.

DD moved non-stop and WILDLY. It seriously felt like a honey badger was trapped inside of me. She turned out to be a pretty assertive, active young lady. She never stops moving(hit all her physical milestones early), sleeps less than average and is tenacious.

I'm currently 21 weeks with DS and can already feel a difference. He feels so calm by comparison. So I'm curious: tell me about your kids in the womb, and then out.
