@mom2b2agirl: I'm 9w2d and I can't wait until we hit the 2nd tri and get out of the morning sickness phase :) I'm happy for the symptoms though as I know it's a good sign!

Well, I was super sick up until about week 20, and from then to now (week 22) have been a little sick, so I have more aversions, and my normal aversions aren't going anywhere. I couldn't even be within viewing distance of raw meat during my first trimester, and things randomly pop up that are more appetizing than usual (ie popcorn twists) but I didn't dislike them to begin with.

My aversions have definitely gotten worse. I've never been a huge red meat fan, always preferred chicken. Now, the thought/sight of either makes me nauseous and sends me running to the toilet. Also, going to the grocery store is my version of hell. Everywhere I look there's pictures and smells that make me vomit. It's truly awful. Whenever I do think of something that sounds good I get fixated on it and it's all I want to eat that day. I asked my mom to make some chicken and noodles because it sounded amazing but I knew I couldn't handle the sight of the raw chicken to make it myself. But once she made it a few hours later the thought of eating it was repulsive. My husband ate it all up though.

I didn't really have any specific food aversions 1st trimester - more an aversion to everything. I would think of a bunch of different dinner options, and the one that made me gag the least won. It was tough. Now though, I'm totally back to normal eating, and don't have any real aversions or cravings.

I used to be really sensitive to dairy, especially ice cream, but now I can't get enough milkshakes!

During my first trimester the only food aversion I had was plain white rice (and I'm Asian!). I couldn't stand the smell of it cooking (which I normally love) and the sight of it made me gag. But as soon as the second trimester came, I was fine.

Also, I used to be crazy lactose intolerant but while I was pregnant and even now post-partum, I am able to eat dairy. Crazy!

I have never not eaten anything! But being pregnant has made me not be able to eat things I normally do on a regular basis, like meat.

I've had a mild dairy allergy all my life. I get hives and other itchy breakouts if I have too much. Since becoming pregnant though, I crave dairy and haven't had any reactions despite consuming mass quantities of milk, cheese, and ice cream :) Which is awesome and lets me keep my calcium and protein intake up for the babes. I hope it stays this way after pregnancy too!

I didn't vote because I'm just nauseated all the time and averse to almost ALL foods but I need to eat all the time to keep the nausea down. I do have a terrible aversion to my puppy, which makes me very sad. He just stinks to high heaven!

I'm curious. I once had an early miscarriage, but between week 4 and 5, I had an intense craving for mangoes. Normally, mangoes make me really ill (not an allergy - a food aversion), but that week, they were the most delicious thing in the world, and I could eat them without exploding. Has anyone else shaken a food aversion during pregnancy?
