It could be the curry or something else you ate. My baby was not at all discerning but since I work/dabble in sensory science I'm intrigued by the babies that are.

Babies can smell the difference between their mom's milk and another mom's milk as early as 4 days (probably earlier but who is giving their baby over to researchers earlier than that). Babies responses to flavors they like/dislike include faces, increased/decreased sucking, heart rate changes, and pulling away.

Here's an article about babies reacting to flavored bottles. http://www.flavourjournal.com/content/2/1/19

Food definitely can affect the taste of your breast milk and other things. I know when I eat anything too spicy, it gives my kids gas (although Logan has a higher tolerance for it than Xander did). Also, once when I was sick, I drank 5 cups of tea and when I tasted my breast milk later, it tasted like tea!!

Was the curry you had spicy? That could definitely have affected your LO.

I don't think so? I eat a lot of different foods (def had curry). I also smell/taste my milk all the time and they really seem pretty much the same. I feel like you would've needed to eat a lot of it to really change the milk? But then again I don't really know! I just know I eat a ton of different and even weird foods.

I had Masaman Curry for dinner tonight which I ate maybe once before months ago...
I EBF and tonight right after dinner I feed DD and she nursed fine but about 2.5 hrs later I fed her before bed and she would suck and pull off right away and suck and pull off again as if it tasted bad???
She finally sucked for a few and kind of was done with it... could it of been the curry?
