Ok I feel better than. I offered whatever we have and will continue to, but she will bring specifics that she needs. We don't get sitters often (like ever).

Our regular sitter knows that anything in our house (coffee, beer, food, etc) is fair game. I have asked her not to open wines in a certain spot (our special stuff). She snacks here and there but usually brings her own stuff if she wants to eat a full meal.

When she takes DD out to dinner I cover the full bill (what I estimate)...I just tack it on to her hourly.

From the babysitter perspective, I never expected any food. Some people may have offered up whatever in their kitchen, but I don't remember ever taking them up on it. I think it would be super nice to offer food but not necessary. I mean I bring or buy my own lunch at work these days ;-)

we usually order delivery for sitters if they're here during a meal, or at least offer it. for our main sitter, we know she likes chicken pad thai so we just get her that now ;)

ETA it's definitely an extra cost, but we rarely get a sitter (like, once every couple months), and we want to keep them happy so that they're willing to watch lo when we need (especially our main sitter, who we completely adore)

I do and just ask if there are allergies or things they don't eat. And I do try to be cognizant of it.

I've just learned what my sitters like and try to have a couple options on hand. A salad is tricky though! Maybe ask if there are any frozen items she keeps on hand at home and get those?

If you have a baby sitter during a meal time, do you offer them food? Whatever LO is having, or offer anything in the fridge? We have a babysitter for the first time and I said she could have Mac and cheese with LO but she tries to be gluten free so she's getting herself a salad while they are out. I would have offered something else but options are limited this week.

If we make this a regular babysitting gig, wondering how best to approach it.
