I never thought that I would love collard greens like I do until his grandma made them for various meals. I always eat a ton of those when we're there. It was embarrassing when I tried it for the first time too. DH's ex-girlfriend owed him money, so she called about something else on one of my first nights with DH like a week into our relationship. DH, myself, DH's ex-girlfriend, and her boyfriend (now husband) went out for sushi. I felt like an idiot in general, but got hooked on sushi over time.
