@sloaneandpuffy: I think I love you! I've never tried Cajeta before, but just by the pictures, I know I'll love it! One of my all-time fave Mexican candies are those pancake like discs with the caramel inside in between a rice-paper like coating. Looking up the recipe totally reminds me of that!

I think I would have FBed her a long time ago if I remembered her name :(

@Crumbs: you might try looking up recipes with "cajeta" too, which is very similar to dulce de leche. Hope you find something! Would it be cruel to look up the girl and Facebook just to ask her for the recipe hahaha?

I was going to say the sushi from a tiny cart vendor in Victoria Station, London, but I'm determined I'll have that again.
Perhaps the pistachio ice cream at a beach resort in Turkey, or the ravioli at some random hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Rome.

When we were in England, I had this simple prawn and cucumber sandwich. It was amazing but I have yet to be able to recreate it at home.

Coconut bread - made fresh in St Lucia. Mmmmm.

I had THE BEST lobster ravioli in Boston in 2004. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the restaurant or even what part of the city it was located in. But I have never had any that rivaled how good that meal was.

I got a piece of fruit from a street vendor in Palermo. It looked kind of like a giant lemon/lime. It was citrus I'm pretty sure but you ate the pith or the white part. It was sweet and sour and tart and they served it with salt! It was awesome and I don't even know what it was!

@sloaneandpuffy: I immediately looked it up! It doesn't really look like it. What she made was a little more crumbly, with dulce de leche in it and it wasn't wet. I don't know, maybe it's a version of it. But I have hope! I AM SO GONNA TRY TO MAKE IT NOW! THAAAANK YOU!

Im guessing maybe you're talking about a tres leches cake?

I can't think of one thing in particular but I ate so many amazing things in India that I'm sure will never be replicated. Also in Spain my host family made this amazing broccoli casserole thing. Wish I had the recipe... It was delicious and also I know the taste would bring back so many memories!

Name a food you love but most likely not eat again!

* The Mexican dulce de leche cake made by a wonderful girl in HS. Her mother just passed away, yet she still managed to bring the class cake (it was some sort of event). She offered to give me the recipe, but I felt so bad, I didn't want to bother her with it. It was a family recipe and I don't remember the name of cake.

* Tempura King and Hairy Crab legs from a tiny, little town in Hokkaido.

* The most wonderful fish cakes I've had in my life from an airport vendor at Tokyo Narita.
