I let them hold them (with our hands over their) their first 4th of July, so... 7 months old. They did them independently last year at 3.5. I'm typically the "no" parent, but we've allowed our boys to have them- the 5 year old pretty independently (us close by) and very close supervision with my 2.5 yr old (my hand over his). Am I missing something (besides the obvious burn?!)</p> <p>It's interesting to me how different people parent.
