Yeah, for me pregnancy is like having the flu and a really awful hangover all the time for months at a time. I take Zofran during the day and Phenergan at night and that's the only way I manage to make it through at least part of the workday (though I'm definitely burning sick leave here and there) or to sleep at night, and I still spend half the night sleeping propped up on pillows because then I feel less likely to hurl.
Last pregnancy it eased up for a while during the second trimester, but came back full force during the third. I had major prenatal depression but no post-partum issues, and I think that has a lot to do with the nausea, and the fact that even though being a new mom was hard, it was the first time in almost a year that I hadn't felt almost paralyzed by sickness.

@skibobrown: I recommend having lots of help when you go for #2, just in case you have the same issues :)
DH is definitely a single parent sometimes if I'm feeling particularly bad, and if he's not going to be available for an extended period of time (like when he went on a business trip this week), I make sure someone else is around to help (my mom stayed in my guest room for a week).

Yep! Totally know what she's talking about. For the first half of my pregnancy I felt pretty much every minute of every day like I had the worst hangover of my entire life. I continued to have so-called morning sickness for my entire pregnancy, although it because somewhat more manageable in the second half of my pregnancy, as long as I took a Zofran once every day or two. I remember feeling like there was no way I was going to survive 9 months of feeling that way, and the uncertainty of not knowing when (or if) the feeling would go away. The night that my baby was born, I remember brushing my teeth and feeling giddy over the fact that it was the first time that I didn't want to gag while brushing my teeth in 9 months.

I do think I'll have a second child eventually, but my memories of how sick I was during pregnancy are convincing me to hold off for a while!

I identified SO MUCH with this article. I was lucky in that my close family and my husband were supportive of my ridiculous MS from weeks 6 1/2-week 17 or so. But I used to get so STEAMED when I would read comments online about MS from people who clearly never had a bad case of it.

In any case, I read this article today and identified so much. I went through every single one of these emotions. So for any other bees who find this post in the future after searching "morning sickness", here you go!
